What’s truly comical is that the whole blackout Tuesday thing backfired with so many people using the #blacklivesmatter hashtag in associated with the post of a simple all black box, so all anyone saw when that hashtag was searched were tons and tons and tons ...of black boxes. That’s it. All the footage of protests and police brutality was essentially flushed out because of one major, boneheaded decision that wound up turning into a collective display of self-silencing. It was like the arsonist prepared to set a building on fire to prove his point who wound up setting himself on fire instead.

I would think about switching out that Heil PR40 for a Shure SM7B or a Electrovoice RE20. The PR40 just has way to much emphasis in the highs, hardly any in the low frequencies, and it makes for a really tinny sound. Also, your plosives (P popping) are really coming through.

I'm still trying to figure out WHY the officer kept his knee on Floyd's neck for so long. After officer Chauvin was arrested, did his commanding officers question him on his actions? What was his answer? What was he thinking while his knee was on Floyd's neck? He knew he was on camera. He knew his suspect was already subdued. He knew there could be consequences for his actions. So why did he not remove his knee? That's what I'm trying to figure out. What was his reason?

I am with you on the fight for individual rights, but individual rights have no meaning if they are not protected by an objective entity, which is the police in this case. In effect, anarchy is allowed to continue in certain parts of the US, that is the crucial role of the government to put an end to rights violations. If you are for anarchy then I don't know what to tell you. I don't think you can have individual rights in a vacuum, it doesn't have any meaning if people are supposed to post with rifles on their rooftops and fend for themselves against thugs. So in my view, that is exactly what the police should uphold. When the first instance of violence or looting appears you go and arrest those people, if it takes a hundred or a thousand police to do it or to even deploy the national guard then so be it. Or if you need to arrest a few thousand people so be it, but it is their most crucial job. Peaceful protest should not be clamped upon, even in hectic time like this. But those genuine protests have to exist way separate from any violence or looting. You can't be "peacefully" protesting among looters, you should go home and try to protest some other time or place in a peaceful way.

They seem to be people fighting for justice against police brutality. I've come to realize that some people think this is anti-white, which it is not. It's simply against dirty cops (not all cops and certainly not white people). We as a country should always speak up against injustice like this. The odds are that the area where those police officers were, is usually an area where there's people of color. If a person of color were to interfere with the arrest, it is basically putting a police officer's personal safety. Basically, the odds of a person of color being killed or harm by a police officer increases if a person of color confronts a police officer. It may not make sense to a white person??? because usually police officers tend to be friendlier to white people, especially well off white people, than an average person of color.

I liked the vid. I think race in America defined by exclusion. Groups/individuals are excluded from being white (or a race higher up in the hierarchy of racial preference). Racial preference is determined by region of origin relative to the regions/areas known by the majority (group in power) - and the opinions of the majority about those regions. * not meant to be a controversial post

I think you made a good point when you said he was being a jerk and the more that the crowd told him to stop, the more adamant he became with what he was doing. I believe this suggests that he not only did not intend on killing him, but he believed he wasn't using enough force to kill him. And the autopsy did show there was no strangulation and no asphyxiation. I think a healthy man would have come out of this unscathed, but George had a whole plethora of potentially lethal issues. I think a manslaughter charge would fit, but not 1st degree murder for him and no charges for the other cops.
Tough being a man in general in these times. I feel for George Floyd and support BLM. But don't forget its proportionally men and black men specifically that are getting hit hard by the police/system.
I agree with your stance on race in a sense that the color of your skin can't be your race. I use the old system where your race is whatever your fathers is as you are based off his seed line. This usually entails to u be brought up in their culture aka jewish, vietnamese, dinka, etc. One can make the case though that most people in the west have been stripped of their culture through social pressure/ tramatic events. Race starts to make just a little more sense to me if you treat it as a psychological phenomena first. So, like you said "you tell someone's race by looking at them" -- that does seem ridiculous, but that's how we tell people's gender, status, fertility, etc. We're not always right, but maybe that's NOT the point. Bear with me a little. I think we can think of race socially as something approximating: "that in which we would consider an in-group preference ethnically" -- so, loosely put, these are people that look like us and our family. In Black Lightning (DC comic) the main bad guy is an ALBINO black man who was ousted by his community. Now come on. He was definitely black right? But he didn't LOOK black. So, psychology kicks in, and black people don't consider him as "part of the in-group" because he didn't look like them and their family. I think, heuristically, there is probably some good function to being able to identify people (even if faulty at times) as being "like me or my family" -- the variables are WAY too high, but it is possible that if giving preference to the ingroup is a way for you (and your genes) to better survive, and this would be good both socially and genetically. I personally don't care if people have ingroup preference or not. Every race SEEMS to have ingroup preference, right? That's fine. It's a free country ;) My biggest gripe with this whole race thing is the race baiting. I hate the selective data picking and the narrative twists. At this rate, by the end of the century, we're going to declare the "mixed race" social experiment a HUGE FAILURE. I vote we give people liberty. Let them self segregate and build communities as they see fit, and trade across them. ENFORCE THE LAW, and show each other grace in much the same way you would like God to grace you. I got jumped by two guys in Prospect Park about two years ago. One fractured clavicle and a demolished bike later (long story short, they tried to jack my bike but failed), the cops took about 13 minutes to get to me after I placed the call. Talking from personal experience, this concept of “freedom in exchange for overall safety” is very much an illusion.

I'm still trying to figure out WHY the officer kept his knee on Floyd's neck for so long. After officer Chauvin was arrested, did his commanding officers question him on his actions? What was his answer? What was he thinking while his knee was on Floyd's neck? He knew he was on camera. He knew his suspect was already subdued. He knew there could be consequences for his actions. So why did he not remove his knee? That's what I'm trying to figure out. What was his reason?
I think he was trying to close the carotid artery to "pass him out," so that he could get him in the car.

I am with you on the fight for individual rights, but individual rights have no meaning if they are not protected by an objective entity, which is the police in this case. In effect, anarchy is allowed to continue in certain parts of the US, that is the crucial role of the government to put an end to rights violations.
If you are for anarchy then I don't know what to tell you. I don't think you can have individual rights in a vacuum, it doesn't have any meaning if people are supposed to post with rifles on their rooftops and fend for themselves against thugs.
So in my view, that is exactly what the police should uphold. When the first instance of violence or looting appears you go and arrest those people, if it takes a hundred or a thousand police to do it or to even deploy the national guard then so be it. Or if you need to arrest a few thousand people so be it, but it is their most crucial job.
Peaceful protest should not be clamped upon, even in hectic time like this. But those genuine protests have to exist way separate from any violence or looting. You can't be "peacefully" protesting among looters, you should go home and try to protest some other time or place in a peaceful way.
The Anarchists have taken a legitimate outrage (the killing of Floyd) and successfully conflated it into a push for the Defund The Police "movement". Almost everything you've said is correct. But as an ex-cop, I've learnt to think for myself and I've checked out the BLM movement. They seem to be people fighting for justice against police brutality. I've come to realize that some people think this is anti-white, which it is not. You seem not to understand how Police officers think, huh?? you are white, so it makes sense why you don't get that. The odds are that the area where those police officers were, is usually an area where there's people of color. If a person of color were to interfere with the arrest, it is basically putting a police officer's personal safety. Basically, the odds of a person of color being killed or harm by a police officer increases if a person of color confronts a police officer. It may not make sense to a white person??? because usually police officers tend to be friendlier to white people, especially well off white people, than an average person of color.

I think race in America defined by exclusion. Groups/individuals are excluded from being white (or a race higher up in the hierarchy of racial preference).
Racial preference is determined by region of origin relative to the regions/areas known by the majority (group in power) - and the opinions of the majority about those regions.

I think you made a good point when you said he was being a jerk and the more that the crowd told him to stop, the more adamant he became with what he was doing. I believe this suggests that he not only did not intend on killing him, but he believed he wasn't using enough force to kill him. And the autopsy did show there was no strangulation and no asphyxiation. I think a healthy man would have come out of this unscathed, but George had a whole plethora of potentially lethal issues. I think a manslaughter charge would fit, but not 1st degree murder for him and no charges for the other cops.
Tough being a man in general in these times. I feel for George Floyd and support BLM. But don't forget its proportionally men and black men specifically that are getting hit hard by the police/system.

Race starts to make just a little more sense to me if you treat it as a psychological phenomena first. So, like you said "you tell someone's race by looking at them" -- that does seem ridiculous, but that's how we tell people's gender, status, fertility, etc. We're not always right, but maybe that's NOT the point. Bear with me a little.
I think we can think of race socially as something approximating: "that in which we would consider an in-group preference ethnically" -- so, loosely put, these are people that look like us and our family.
In Black Lightning (DC comic) the main bad guy is an ALBINO black man who was ousted by his community. Now come on. He was definitely black right? But he didn't LOOK black. So, psychology kicks in, and black people don't consider him as "part of the in-group" because he didn't look like them and their family.
I think, heuristically, there is probably some good function to being able to identify people (even if faulty at times) as being "like me or my family" -- the variables are WAY too high, but it is possible that if giving preference to the ingroup is a way for you (and your genes) to better survive, and this would be good both socially and genetically.
I personally don't care if people have ingroup preference or not. Every race SEEMS to have ingroup preference, right? That's fine. It's a free country ;)
My biggest gripe with this whole race thing is the race baiting. I hate the selective data picking and the narrative twists. At this rate, by the end of the century, we're going to declare the "mixed race" social experiment a HUGE FAILURE.
I vote we give people liberty. Let them self segregate and build communities as they see fit, and trade across them. ENFORCE THE LAW, and show each other grace in much the same way you would like God to grace you.

I got jumped by two guys in Prospect Park about two years ago.
One fractured clavicle and a demolished bike later (long story short, they tried to jack my bike but failed), the cops took about 13 minutes to get to me after I placed the call. Talking from personal experience, this concept of “freedom in exchange for overall safety” is very much an illusion.
