I love your content! I'm a graduating biology student and planning to take teaching units for me to have an opportunity to teach in high school. Keep the uploads going.

Thank you! I really needed to hear that! I should be putting out more videos towards the start of school in August 😊

I have a question (or video suggestion). I’ve been thinking of transitioning from my current job to a high school biology teacher, but I’ve seen a lot of burnt out teachers lately. What things have you seen/felt cause teacher burn out and how do you combat those?
    Thanks! Love your videos!

Thank you! I appreciate it! My biggest burn out factor is student behavior, especially since I’m still learning how to manage them. But I help myself by talking to veteran teachers, listening to the advice of my admin when they review my teaching, and staying informed about new practices. I also get burned out if I’m not taking care of myself. I try to have a routine which includes eating healthy, exercise, having something to look forward to when I get home (it’s important to know you have a life outside of work) and not working past my contract hours!
I might make a separate video if I can think of more. Thanks for the suggestion and good luck in your transition!

Did you ever transition to a teaching job? I'm about to transition to one as well and I have the same concerns. I'd like to know how things worked out for you??

No, I did some volunteer work teaching kids and decided that it’s not quite what I’m looking for. Best of luck to you though!
