Everyone needs friends like Chad and Stacie. Great job on both sides of the camera.
I love, not only that Rory is always there to help, but his solutions are Trail Tested. I would not have thought to use an adjustable wrench as an anvil to crush a brake line, but it was ideal.
Nice that you filmed Robert u can't take anymore for granted cuz u don't know when it will be the last time u speak to them rest peacefully Robert 🙏🙏
Rory just seems like a really genuinely nice person.
He is always willing to help in any way possible. One of the best guys you will ever meet.
He definitely isn't afraid of hard work and has the experience to be amazingly effective!
Without Chad a couple of these rigs would never have made it to the event. Great to see the joy that Chad has in judging, and the unspoken pride of his handiwork. To see Chads kids grinning in the event and having fun is awesome..

They had eye contact the whole time so Ben knew what was going to happen and gave Paul the thumbs up that it was ok to finish rolling it over.
After watching most of the videos of the games, I'm still impressed with the niceness of everyone involved.

Rory is no doubt the guy you want if you have an expensive vehicle disabled in the middle of nowhere. But merlon put on quite a show and makes some incredible rigs. Can’t wait for the mini semi truck to be done

I loved how everyone is helping each other, I saw Shaun helping spot for Eric etc, really nice to see.
This was way more of a fun day wheeling than it was a competition.
Not only do you all (Chad, Matt, Rory, Paul, Merlyn, etc.) have the best work vehicles (Toy's), but you all have the best video crews.

I love how Rory used his 2 winches to lift & pull his car to himself once positioned. Having Rearsteer like Matt & the huge tires eliminates the need for rear dualls. Like the wider footprint for stability of Trail mater.... Rory has his truck setup well for calm steady recoveries... think over steering knuckles like a drift car with constant velocity axles like on Paul's FJ... like the simplicity of Matt's boom but way hard to beat the power of hydraulics for lifting & even constant duty cycle winching but will be a factor. The heavy rusted our rear box mint have to go since it doesn't serve much use offroad?? Looking forward to watching all the cool ideas on your build!! A toyota crewcab or something narrower to start with but you can haul more than 2 people inside would be nice.
For the type of stuff I do I think Paul's wrecker is more what I'm thinking of. It would be nice to have a crew cab at times but the length penalty would be hard to live with.
I can't wait to see Chads 1972 Chevy 4x4 wrecker next year. Simply awesome!!!!!!!

Ben is the real hero of the wrecker games ! That boy has to be tough to take that beating… and took it backwards ! I’ve watched every video of the games and yours is by far the best I’ve seen !

Only time I ever had a tow truck from a rallying accident the SOB's cracked my sub frame by putting the whole weight of the car on the sharp end of a piece of angle iron, welded to the axle tube of their excuse for a dolley. Car never drove straight again despite the bodyshop's best efforts.

Poor Ben. I feel sorry for him. He can’t see where he’s going but he can see where he’s been. And to make it worse I think Paul is trying to kill him. 😂😂😂😂. At least he wasn’t hurt. All in fun. It was a great show. Oh. And before the event I had a strong feeling that your cousin Merlin would win. I’m partial to diesels. All of the trucks were awesome. 😊 oh and don’t worry about the scratches and dents. Robby Layton can fix those 😂😂😂😂😂.

Great video. Ben was smashing into Paul the whole time like I don't know who on a snowy road recovering a bunch of jeeps.
Ben needed one of those soft sided tanker helmets with the side protection,
After I ran out of fuel and had to push my 559 Suzuki several miles, I learned to look for a station @ 1/2 a tank and ASP @ 1/4 tank. If, and I mean IF, I stuck to that rule.... I never had that shame over the last 50 years. We all live and learn !

Great video! Ben did amazing work steering while going backwards. GPASHERM is a beast and VERY capable wrecker for sure. I am amazed at the strength of those winch ropes.

I have watched the whole gang for a while now. And that's one reason we wanted to attend the wrecker games. It was great to see Chad there as a judge. I had a chance to say Hi to Stacie as we walked along. She was nice enough to ask my name. ❤
I predicted that Chad was going to deserve 2nd and 3rd place at the games, but Merlin was a wild card and Matt didn't do his part to take second. This whole event was awesome and Matt definitely came in first for organizing and supporting everyone there.
Chad needs to be a little more cutthroat on extorting bribes from the contestants.😂 He's just so genuinely nice that he can't even fake being corrupt.😊
The only downside for me is that now I have three more channels to watch and keep up with.
For next time. Take the wheels and suspension off of the vehicles that are being towed up the trail. ;-)

Great video, Stacie! 👍 I've watched all the videos from the teams and the judges, as well as a load of the fan videos, and the one recurring theme is that everyone was having a great time. I'm betting that by next summer some entrepreneur will start offering backwards Rodeo rides up various trails in Sand Hollow. (With an extra charge for the rollover inversion feature, lol.)

I think the games missed the category of who was the helper who rode the toughest rig, it would have been contested between Ben and Scooty from Merlin's team.

There should be an RC event that coincides with next year's Wrecker Games. Choose a course; do time trials, or something. Maybe even rock climbing events 😉

You going to run a bigblock Chevy in your wrecker build? I like the dual boom winches specially how Matts rigged his really wide to help level a rig on the fly.
I have a different big engine in mind for this build, will talk about it later.
The boom I have for it is a slightly smaller version of the one Paul has on his wrecker. It will be set up to where I can adjust everything from inside the cab. Width can be a double edged sword on something like this, I will probably stay more pickup truck width with mine.
Rory was the only one to finish without any damage to Trail Mator. BSF broke a U bolt. Matt lost the reverse. Paul broke a brake light. Merlin broke his transfer case. God bless
I completely agree that it was very impressive what Eric did with what he had, and he never gave up. Sure he didn't put on quite as much of a show, but he was technical enough to get it done.
