I agree, mostly... This game has a special place in my heart and was better than anything I would have hoped for at the time; however, due to it's rambo-style gameplay and lack of realistic, frenetic warfare, it doesn't shine as well as it used to. It also feels a bit off with hit detection. I will say, the game bleeds old-school charm and hits on all notes, just a product of it's time that is beginning to age a little more poorly now.
My poor little mamaw used to love playing medal of honor with me. I would get mad cause she played different than I did.❤️ Wish I could go back man you don't realize how important these memories will be

There are really good memories with this beautiful game, when i was around 12 years old playing it. When i played it back then, this mission was the most difficult and had the most influence on me. The setting, the depressing music running in the background and your buddy that got killed in the beginning. I would always try to get my buddies surviving to the end of the mission. Back then i was very happy to get to the end of the mission, and then i realised i forgot the kerosine. I was then forced to look around the map to find it.
I cried playing this as a kid and tried for hours to figure out how to take out the Germans before they could shoot him. That memory alone is what made me look for this mission.
as someone from belgium i always loved the moh games their missions in dutch areas and having the NPCs talk in dutch xD "Wat wilt u? wat komt u hier doen?"
I used to kill every one on this map and just walk around and take in the surroundings .. just checking out the countryside and marveling at how big the map is .. good times ;(
When I was about 8 I would play this mission and do the same thing. I lived in the city and it made me want to explore the countryside in real life. When I was old enough I would travel to the countryside alone and walk around taking it all in. I now live in the countryside and love it - maybe this game helped shape me in that way! Who knows :-)
@@arncoo63 Highly unlikely... you can't even play PS2/3 discs like the Xbox can. I would've thought by now they'd add some sort of backward compatibility. :/

This game was CS to me, i remember when 1vs1 with "gewehr 98" you had to lean hard to dodge the heck off each other until one of us dies, truly rifle in sword fencing.
I always had feeling of constant sadness while playing this game, washed out colours, lack of chaotic useless action, explosions, tons of blood and gore. Just pure emptiness and depression, just like decent war game needs to be
I remember getting this for Christmas when I was like 6 years old. Reading the big ole slogan "You don't play, you volunteer" and thinking to myself how I wanted to be a soldier at 6 years old. lol

Por este juego voy de visita a Los molinos de Holanda el próximo mes de Marzo, tuvo que pasar casi 20 años desde que jugué este juego y voy a cumplir mi sueño.
Its funny that the tanks that need to be destroyed in this Holland mission are PZ.IV D variants. They would have been much more later versions by then. Maybe because of lack of research or polygon limits of this game.
Better that and say hey they should be later versions because you can explain like, well they were just there to use. Not like other games where they use tigers everywhere even when it does not make any sense.
Alright; now, @2:30, with that whole scenario, I can point out 4 different things wrong with that particular scenario. #1: I'll start with the obvious, they did him dirty. That lowkey pissed me off slightly the very first time I saw that moment in the game. That was a cheap kill right then and there. #2: The rate of fire of the Gewehr 43 when you, the player fires the weapon is insane. That rate of fire is unrealistic. Now if I recall correctly I believe that in Medal of Honor and seeing the mechanics of how that gun functions it's semi-automatic. However, you can only fire that gun so fast. That rate of fire is like the literal speed of an AR-15 in real life. #3: That dude sucks so bad at shooting, that he had to practically unload and empty his entire clip on one guy holding still. The only movement that was going on was him trying to disconnect himself from the parachute to free himself. He wasn't even swinging and swaying back and forth. How in the hell do you fire that many shots at one target holding still and you miss like at least half the shots you take? And you know what, this brings up the fourth thing that I saw was wrong. #4: Lastly, a magazine for the Gewehr 43 (at least in Frontline) only holds 10 bullets at once. I counted how many shots were fired and if I counted correctly that was way more than 10 shots. That was like around twenty, literally. Without even having to reload.
i bought it brand new and own it again on my ps2. A true masterpiece yet the mechanics are pretty horrible...the music, voice acting and sound. Story. The whole bit...but the mechanics? bad
