The disguise portions were masterfully done are you kidding me? They accomplish exactly what they're supposed to!They show the player, the child potentially, That wearing a disguise of the enemy is both ineffective and illegal. Soldiers caught in enemy uniform surrender there right to being captured as an enemy combatant. They can absolutely be killed or face the judicial system of wherever they are caught. They did this very well. Nine times out of 10 wearing an enemies uniform got you killed or worse.
_Medal of Honor: Frontline_ has so many interactive easter eggs, but only the most vigilant and meticulous gamer will discover them all. In the bunker, the German at the top of the stairs will roll down them if you sneak up from behind and hit him. There's a German waiting to throw a grenade down from an overhead shaft, but if you peek around the corner slowly, you can shoot him first. He will fall down and his grenade will detonate. You can also shoot the fuel barrels next to some officers. It's funny because it reads like they caused an explosion with their cigarettes. On the turret deck, sneak up behind the German with the binoculars and shove him. He will fall over the edge to his death. On top of Nijmegen bridge, some snipers will fall to their deaths if you startle them. _Frontline_ is jam packed with these little gags. It's an absolute delight, and I'm sad that this kind of fun is absent from contemporary gaming.
I always loved that you could eat food in the game. Like there would be some bread on the table, and you could eat it, gain health and a charming message would come up "This bread is delicious"
This game holds a very very special place in my heart... not only is this the first fps I played at 13 years old, my uncle who passed from cancer got me this game....I would sit and listen to that intro song over and over and over again staring out my moms window when she let me play my gamecube on her tv.....that intro song truly makes me emotional to this day, because not only does it remind me of my youth, but its pretty much synonymous with my uncle and it makes me miss him so much.. I actually did alot of reserch and even learned to speak a little german BECAUSE of this game.. It will be in my heart forever ♥️ ❤
There are four games that made me fall in love with that medium of storytelling. 4. This game 3. Syphon Filter 2. Mortal Kombat III 1. Metal Gear Solid 2
One of my first PlayStation 2 games. It was incredible to play. That opening music brings back a lot of memories. I remember the hype this game had back in the day. It was unreal. Glad I bought Medal of Honor 2010 so I could play it again.
During gameplay I used to always wonder what the Nazi troops were saying when they would sometimes yell "Eindringling"! I recently discovered they were yelling "Intruder"!
One of my oldest cousins (like a 20yr age gap, my family’s huge) worked for EA at that time so I got a chance to play quite a few EA/EA Sport games that he would gift me each Christmas. Pretty blessed at the time to have experienced one of the golden era’s of EA like this. All for GameCube.
It's a shame that this franchise died. I never liked any of the COD games or BF games as much as the Ps1 Medal of Honor games or the good Ps2 MOH games
I think there is a space for a new Medal of Honor today. The focus was always on the single player until EA tried to fight cod. I think a solid single player, maybe with an optional coop mode, would be a good fit for a 30 - 40 dollar title today.
Airborune was pretty underated, it was extremley overshadowed by COD4 when it came out. I loved Battefield 1942 and BF2. Was really saddend when they pulled the plug on MOH after Warfighter flopped. That game was odd. I loved its gameplay but the levels and story sucked. The MP was quite fun back then. Shame EA let this die and put those resourses into screwing up Battlefield.
I would like a single play /co op moh game. I don't want it to be full of mictrotransactions turning the game into a comicon cosplay party like every other multiplayer shooter out there
Just beat the bridge level on hard and going for the plat this week. Going for the trophies is super fun and brings back so many memories. Great game and still holds up.
Crazy to think that our "COD modern warfare" was Medal of honor series and Call of Duty 1-3. That was our jam. And if you were gettinf down on the ps1 back in the day you'd be running co op missions with your bro on spec ops and medal of honor.
@@joethealternativegamer3935 I had fun with Medal Of Honor(2010) and Warfighter.(2012) They were nowhere near as good as the games before it but I still had a good time when they released.
after all the years, I've finally finished it legit as of this morning lol. it does still holds up for sure in my opinion, and it does have some problems but far and few in-between vs fps games, or games as a whole nowadays. Now I need to finish the ps1 ports for the first time.
stoked to see you finally get around to this one. i hadn't played a medal of honor game for probably 17 or so years but replaying frontline last year i realized what a classic this one in particular is. i feel like its the perfect balance of the classic medal of honor feeling along with being on hardware that was sufficiently capable to provide a more playable and cinematic experience. once call of duty rose to prominence the war shooter genre just became incredibly homogenized. i like the arcadey run and gun feel of frontline, and the way you have to do certain specific odd little things in order to trigger all the possible enemy spawns on a level in order to get the gold medal was super interesting to me and not something ive seen in any other single player FPS that i can think of. anyway great video as always!
Thank you :) I started making a bigger push to cover older titles this year and I found a new love in making videos! The retro stuff is not going anywhere! A few years ago I visited Germany, love the Bavarian food!
We sank hours into the multiplayer with my cousins when we were kids... This was our Goldeneye, whenever we would meet or have a party this is the shit we just wrung dry the Manor level was INSANE ❤, we even staged a play in it once 😂 ... The Gamecube just kicked ass man, good times, childhood will just never be the same
Masterpiece indeed. Probably one of the best video game orchestral soundtrack ever made, phenomenal gameplay and historical references, and just wonderful design. That's why I chose to remake parts of the game in Call of Duty 2 as a mod. I already made the Omaha level. There's a video for it.
Would put this game alongside the best WW2 shooters out there. The art and mission design is top tier and the gameplay never gets old no matter how many playthroughs. I also think Rising Sun is comparable in quality. These old shooters are absolutely masterclasses.
This legend of a game was my childhood. I got it and Rising sun on ps2, alongside MOH vanguard, European assault, COD finest hour, big red one and 3, and MOH airborne and MOH 2010. Im a big history nerd.
Recently I went and played this game again for the first time in years and it's still a great game. Modern WWII shooters like BFV, COD WW2 and Vanguard don't even come close to Frontline.
Had the pleasure of playing both this and Allied assault on Pc. Similar but different games. This had more of a cinematic flair and the overall presentation was a bit nicer overall I think. While Allied Assault had nicer gunplay and some really cool atmospheric moments sometimes.
Great job on this review of a masterpiece from the Sony PlayStation 2. This game brings me back to a time when my dad gifted me this one during the early 2000s and I spent countless hours truly enjoying it. Thank you and I liked and subscribed. I will be watching your other reviews! God bless!
This is my absolute favorite game of all time. Is it the best of all time? Nope haha. But it holds a huge place in my life. The original, Underground, Frontline and Rising Sun all have a big piece in my memories as a kid. Wish they’d fully remaster those four games!
Operation Repunzel, the mansion level, you actually can sneak past the guard and get a fair ways into the level disguised its just unlikely. Generally I found you had to wait a bit
