**Threads of Fate Guide (ToF)**
Step 1: Unlock the mushroom shrine tales questline through lightbulb or maple guide, special content, story.
Step 2: **Continue questline till Kurama is unlocked. ** To talk to NPCs, light bulb, scroll to the bottom, [Threads of Fate] Unraveling the Threads of Fate.
Step 3: Talk to both Konoko and Kurama every 30mins for 2 closeness till u rch 50 closeness.
Step 4: Gift Konoko red potions/elixirs and gift Kurama Arrow for Bow. You are able to **gift both NPC 7 times weekly**(Monday reset), 3x7=21 closeness. If done correctly, u will rch 71 closeness for both NPCs on the current week and can begin the asking process.
Step 5: The first NPC that u "Ask" on the current day will reset the following day. Repeat a NPC's "Ask" daily until the NPC gets chop wood or gather herbs "Ask" option. **Once the NPC gets the option, relogin using alt + F4, DO NOT click next to complete the dialogue as it will reset the option on the following day.**
Step 6: Use another available NPC "Ask" option first to prevent resetting the ask option in Step 5. As only 1 ask option is allowed to be in progress, immediately log out to world selection and log back in so you can ask the NPC(Step 5) that has herbs or chop woods. By relogging, you remove the 30m reward timer. **Ask the NPC 5 times per day**.
Step 7: After clicking on ask, wait for 30m then redeem the quest via lightbulb.
DO NOT: cc, go to home, cash shop, Bosses, PQs, Ardent or u will get meso instead.
DO: Wolf/Bounty Portals, MP, Maple Tour, Commerci
Notes:
Maintain 100 closeness for the NPC with gather herb or chop woods option for extra pouches.
Closeness decreases by 10 every Monday reset 8am so increase closeness back to 100 by gifting before asking for herb or woods.
Recommended Alchemy level 10 to craft WAPs/EAPs.
Superior Item Crystal : Extracting Level 100+ equipment
Level up alchemy: Buy profession coupon from RA merchant after defeating boss. Craft random stuff with tof rewards.

This was a very clear explanation thank you, All the popular videos on this are kinda garbage!
Showa Town daily boss drops a ball of yarn which gives 7 closeness to any npc you choose. Also after you ask your dummy npc (that doesn't have gather herbs/chop wood) you can relog your character and it will cancel your ask, and you will still get your 5 asks for the day and it wont reset your main npc.
Forgot to add, going into cash shop will also give you meso

If the npc with the herb/chop wood quest reaches 100 closeness, can you still keep asking ? Or do you have to wait for reset?
You can still keep asking! Just make sure you ask the other character first of course

What is the process of finding the herb or chop wood quest? for example if I ask 1st person and its not I relog and ask 2nd person and it is still not. Do I ask the first person again or do I ask the 2nd person? Would love more clarification on how you found the person with the chop wood or herb quest that would be great thank you.!
Yeah sorry wasn’t so clear on that. You only get one reset per day. So you have to just keep trying every day until you get it. It can take some time but eventually you’ll get it! And once you get it, you’re set as long as you always remember to ask the other person first

So do you have to ask both npcs at the same time to hope for chopped wood/gathering herbs? Or only ask 1 and if its not either, keep relogging until it is, then ask the other? I'm a tad confused on that part lol (I'm a little slow) :)
Do I have to complete the ask quest in order to reset the quest for that day? Or can I ask and then relog in order to "force" reset the quest for that day?
You mention you can complete the Herb Pouch task 4x a day. Other guides said if you Ask the other npc first same as you do but instead of waiting for it to complete just relog instead you dont consume that "clear" and still keep the quest?
ok do I keep resetting my asks between the two characters each day until I get lucky? can I do this on multiple characters?

Haven't tried this out myself yet, but what if you ask, in your case kurama, the reset happens but don't send him out and instead press alt + f4. If i understand this properly kurama should've reset and then you can safely do takeno konoko resulting in 5 times a day?

Does maple patched away this method? I try to do it but now the quest will reset on every NPC.
So let’s say I got it in my first try on character A. Is it right to say, I just complete the characters herb quest for 5 times for the pouch. And the next day I just ask any other characters I have first before asking character A again for the herb quest?

How do I make it so the person I pick gives me chop wood?
do the asks reset every day at 0:00 utc? I waited till reset and was only able to ask once then got the message "You cant ask anymore today. Try again tomorrow"
Yeah I’ve had it say that before for some reason. Just try again (maybe a couple times) and it should go through! But yes, asks reset at the normal reset time
Would I be able to skip the prequest if I already did the prequest on my Evan? I want to do this with my shadower who hasn’t done the mushroom tales prequest
Good question. Unfortunately it is character specific, not account wide. You’ll have to do mushroom tales on the shad if you want to do threads on it. The good thing is, if you have the patience/time to do it, you could get double the rewards by doing it on shad and Evan as the oils are transferable
i wonder if i did something wrong i got kurama to go 1st and he wet mine stuff at el nath than i ask tokeno to find me something but she went to kerning city and just got me mesos? i didnt even change channels or anything
Does takeno have the right task? Just to be sure, you need one of them to have the “chop wood” or “gather herbs” task. You’ll have to keep trying every day until one of them gives you either of those tasks. Then you can do the method of asking the person that doesn’t have that ask first.
@@kaceboye6107 looks like neither of them had the right task then i hope i didnt screw it up by letting kurama get done with el nath mining task and letting takeno do the kerning city money tasked then
Yeah it can take some time to get the right task, and once you do I’d recommend writing down which character has the good task on a sticky note so you don’t forget. Good luck!

So, I need to first get 2 people to 50 closeness, ask each of them every day until I find the herb/wood ask, and from that day I have to make sure to ask a different person before asking that person?

I done the quest but only have takeno on my thread of fate. How to get other characters?
You’ll unlock more characters as you complete more of the mushroom tales questline. There are a few different chapters for different characters. You don’t need to complete all of them if you just want to stop after you’ve unlocked 2 characters!

No you will need 2 characters. 1 with the chop wood/gather herbs ask, and another to fodder off the daily ask reset. That will allow you to reset a random task every day on one character and keep the wood/herb ask on another

If you want to stop early you can just do the questline up until you unlock another character

You have to fully complete the mushroom tales questline. There are multiple chapters to complete and each one will unlock a few characters. I linked a guide in the description :)
Ive opened over 150 herb poutches and no juniper berry seeds or oil….

Remember guys TOF is one of the worst things to waste time on . Faster getting familars for 60% perma buff . And this is weeks of work to even get somewhere close and after few months u might have rng align other wise 7montgs and u get a terrible item better off daily story
