Great game! What a back and forth. Terran won that critical mass engagement at 14:30 clean with no Storm Protoss. But he made a critical error not to continue on into Mini's main. Protoss managed to turn the tide with Carriers late and superb micro against mass Goliaths. Terran never built Wraiths or Science Vessels with EMP.
Actually, the best way to against Carrier is Ghost's Lockdown but the control system in BW is so terrible. That's why we rarely see Ghost are in use. I have played against BWAI. Carriers against Terran always seemed like a huge gamble. Mainly, because when I was a kid we used more than two units in our composition. Lock down was such a great way to turn carriers into floating paperweights. Sure would be a shame if you tried to move goons across a choke point and you get body blocked with lockdown. As long as you're not getting absolutely destroyed, 3-4 ghosts isn't unreasonable.
Honestly I was not impressed with his goliath control, needed to choose his targets in those later fights rather than let his goliaths shoot aimlessly at interceptors. Kill the goons then focus on all body blows to the carriers. Also needed to use scan when the carriers hid on the high ground. He was doing OK all things considered, his tank control was on point.
Um, Flash thinks Goliaths are a good counter to mass Carriers. He uses it all the time. The secret? Get your attack upgrades ASAP. There’s a *huge* diff between +3 Gols’ antiair and +1 Gols’ AA, more so than for almost any other unit in the game. And obviously get Charon Boosters pretty quick too.
tbh JyJ lost the moment his first SCV went to the other side of the mineral to mine. That he even reduced the game to 1 base vs 1 base should be a win by itself.
U cant stop carriers with wraiths. One goliath kills aproximately as many interceptors for his own cost (for 100 minerals) its why Terrans make Goliaths. Wraith ball can die to 1-2 storms or 5-6 corsairs and wraith costs much more than a goliath,its a very poor and super deadly choice to go for wraiths. Also goliaths are as good as killing carriers,but can handle dragoons and zealots and everything the protoss has on the ground aswel,while wraith is ONLY good vs the carriers but not against anything else at all.
Why all terran use goliath again flyer? The terran have Wraith/Valkyrie/Battle cruiser! Invisibility again carrier! Lot a rockets again him! Or a shot of Yamato! No EMP again Protoss?
Valkyries are useless against capital ships, BCs are not cost effective. Wraith could be used but it also a coin flip. They are more expensive, more fragile than Goliath, and they depend too much on invisibility which could be countered by cheap Observers.

No you haven't, that's a ridiculous statement.
That's also an expensive tech switch while most likely not having upgrades, and a simple tech switch to goons hard counters the wraiths.
