Great review. I’ve had my V2 for 1.5 years and after 100+ rounds I still absolutely love it. Zero complaints.
I stopped using my anti wheelie wheels. I just keep a large jug of water in bottom front pouch of my H2NO bag and don’t go real fast up steep hills and it’s not a problem.
My buddy has the follow tether thing on his V2 and I must say I don’t have a need for that feature.
I prefer the cart out in front of me. I send it up ahead 30-50 yards and park it just to the right of my ball so that when I get there it’s right where I want it to be.
I liked your magnet hack. I secured a 8” or so loop of orange 550 cord with gorilla tape onto the remote. When not in use I hang it on a golf T stuck in the Rovic. Works well. Once I dropped the remote amongst some trees/under brush. Without the orange 550 I’d been in trouble.
My first cart with V2 was an original Clic gear with non rotating wheel. Worked descent on wet dewing Georgia morning grass but as dew decreased the friction increased and turning was difficult and couldn’t have been healthy for the V2. Highly recommend rotating front wheel.
If you’re a walker and looking to enhance your time on the course and want the energy after the round to take on other activities, treat yourself to a V2.
And the V2 pairs nicely with a Rovic.

Thanks for the kind words. I am coming up on almost 2 years of having mine and love it every time I play. Still zero complaints here as well. The magnet works great. I too prefer to have the cart waiting for me when I get to the ball and to sending it to the next tee when I am putting. It really is the best thing I have ever bought for golf.

I had the wheels and this was a fantastic review. I did the same hack with the remote. I upgraded to the mgi zp navigator mainly because you don't deal with removing wheels. Its a pushcart that you can leave in the car and just take the small battery out to recharge. With the alphard, you remove the unit and the clamps were not protected when you put the cart in the car. I never had problems but the mgi is a simpler process.

    • @Birdknowsbest

I have a Clicgear 3.5+ buggy & I will definitely get the swivel conversion kit. I was looking at the MGi Zip Nav All Terrain but it is $1100AUD more , cannot justify that, that only includes the mobile phone holder accessory too. if the battery dies why would you have to use the remote to put it in free wheel mode? the wheels are dead? when off it is in free wheel mode. i use the mode for narrow bridges etc. could do it to conserve battery for hills maybe. unless something has changed. thanks for the review, iwant it more now.

    • @Birdknowsbest
      @Birdknowsbest  2 года назад

Honestly, the battery has never died on me while using it. Yes, if the battery were to die you would just push it like a normal push cart (freewheel mode) if I didn't communicate that clearly in the video.
Like you, I only use Freewheel mode on a tight bridge or other area where I want more control. If I'm going up a really steep hill, I just put it in the first speed and hold on to it and help guide it up that hill. I rarely end up using it based on the courses I play.
Glad you enjoyed the review. I've talked to a couple people that have had both the V1 and V2 and they all said they like the V2 a lot more.

Thank you for the kind words. Yes, it should work with the CG 8.0. Idk if that model has front swivel wheels. I know it has 2 front wheels. As far as I know the swivel kit is available. The swivel wheel kit would replace your current front wheels on your CG and the V2 would become your back wheels. Its pretty easy to mount the V2 and the wheels to your cart. I'm not very mechanically inclined and I was able to do it in around 30 minutes. My buddy, who has the front wheel swivel kit, said it wasn't that difficult to install the swivel kit. The swivel makes everything easier from driving to steering the cart. I highly recommend getting a cart with a front swiveling wheel or buying the conversion kit. Hope this helps. Two things that you can do. You can use a portable battery charger like you use for your phone and usb-c to the remote and after like two holes you'll have enough charge to finish the round. The other option is to use the club booster V2 app. The app just looks like a remote control on your phone and you can steer it by pushing the controls on your phone instead of using the remote. I charge mine after 3 Rounds and it should be good for at least four. My buddies remote died last month and he used my cell phone charger to charge it up and it was good to go after two holes and then he charged it full when he got home. You could also use the optional tether as you don't need a remote to use the tether. Hope that helps.

I use the remote 95% of the time. In the video I show the TFS (tether follow system) which is a tether that connects to you and it follows you. Alphard did just come out with the Side Kick which does follow you around autonomously.

@@Birdknowsbest ok thanks just making sure I’m not hearing things. 🤣 so let me ask you this do you think the battery can support a weight around 100-130 lbs?

    • @Birdknowsbest

@@watchmesk8betta I don't know what the weight rating is. The more weight the slower it would probably go and the shorter the range would be. I have never heard of a golf bag weighing that much.

Yes. They have brackets for that now

I just installed the V2 on my Clickgear 4.0. I noticed immediately that the seat I earlier installed on the cart cannot work now since the construction of the mounting bracket for the seat is also the bracket for the struts to hold the wheel. The V2 requires me to remove the existing wheels since the V2 comes with its own set of wheels. The second thing I discovered is that the marked bracket on the V2 for the right wheel is constructed incorrectly. I have to pull up on the latch to lock the wheel to the V2 unit rather than push down on the latch. That also means the wheelie attachment does not lock in place for the right wheel. I reached out to Alphard am awaiting a response. Any thoughts. David Mitchell

Can't comment on the seat as I don't use or ever have used a seat on my cart.
Idk about the bracket issue you are having. If you watch the video you can see how the brackets work on mine. They clamp over the bar, then I slide in the wheelie bars and pull up to lock them. I've never had an issue with the clamp or brackets on mine or my buddies.

@@Birdknowsbest I have a clicgear 3.5+ with the seat attachment. It's not intuitively obvious how to attach the seat bracket but I finally figured it out. There are a couple of videos on RUclips that show how to attach the seat for clicgear 4.0. Same process for 3.5+

That red one i keep the V2 in? Its an old one we had at our house. I didnt buy it for the V2. Its larger than a normal duffel but smaller than a hockey bag duffel. I could get you the dimensions if you really want them.
