Many thanks to all of you for listening and commenting! It's amazing that my music is now being re-discovered after all these decades! The synth that I'm using is a Yamaha CS30L and my main fx was a Watkins Copycat. ❤

And this just auto-queued for me.. Grand Wisdom of The Algorithm, Almighty 🙏 ...or something like that
Intriguing first track 👍 I'll keep listening... This has a proto-electronic, sci-fi music thing going on, but more 'prog' B)

No idea how this popped up in my feed, but it's rad. Stuff like this was the seed for the huge resurgence in "dungeon synth" stuff we're seeing right now, also spurred on by people wanting cool fantasy game soundtracks for their D&D games.

Reminds me of old science fiction stuff like Stargate & Battlestar Galactica. It's definitely one of my new favorite albums.

What I've noticed is that this man understands how you use rhythm.
For all the musical trickery that happens, it's welded solid to a tight and undisturbed base of percussion/drums/bells.
Just listen to the bell in 'Gates of Babylon'. 🤩
Been tapping my foot non-stop. 🙌

    • @EthericSound

Many thanks for listening and commenting - even the sequences I played by hand back then (couldn't afford a sequencer!) which helped give me that sense of rhythm 🙂

So it came naturally, in a way. I salute you for having a minimal setup, yet producing these rich tones. 🙌

Hey Steve, I still have this and the Evocations cassette I bought from you years ago stored away in a box with all my other cassettes. The home produced artwork, by you wife I think, always
fascinated. I do play this album from time to time rerecorded on minidisc at the time, it always reminded me of Phaedra by TD 🤗 cheers.

Saludos.
