What? Why??! Nneka is totally awesome... U know what? I bet it's this lousy algorithm piece of junk, serving people way too much of all that watered-down mainstream stuff and all the other pabulum, that the music industry is so eager to promote. Pity. I gotta say, I just came across this tune literally a couple of minutes ago - and I instantly fell in love with her. And Heartbeat.🤘
I heard this song yesterday in the car at 7 in the morning (in Germany). I immediately stopped at the baseline, turned up the volume ... wow ... and it gets better all the time. This is one of these songs where you remember where you where and what you were doing for the rest of your life. Truly an amazing piece of art indeed ......
2023 here. Just had her name browsing my mind from mémoires. Saw her in concert in Kings Cross back on 2009. Pure soul and talent. Cant find any recent materials from her sadly
Conspiracy I agree about the chase and status remix I think it's so good coz they sorta kept it original just put a drum and bass spin on it ruclips.net/video/qUsm3PCoGIE/видео.html
I discovered Nneka's music when I was a teenager growing up in Spanish Harlem. Her unique sound and powerful lyrics resonated with me on a deep level, especially her song "Heartbeat." It spoke to my struggles of growing up in a marginalized community, but also gave me hope and empowerment. Nneka's music has taught me to use my voice to speak out for what I believe in and that I can make a difference in the world. Love you Nneka
Cringe So a light skin Nigerian growing up in dark skin Nigeria is growing up in a marginalized community? But way to make it about yourself... narcissism and runs deep in cringe world 😂
Peaceful protesters were shot at today at Lekki Toll Gate, in Lagos Nigeria. And all i could hear was this song play in my head. My heart is beating...blood keeps rushing 💔
Just found this. This is amazing. There's an urgency to the instrumentals and her voice that give emotion to the message so well. This is beautiful. I hear people fighting the narratives of society's continuous improvement with schools of thought like "we've come a long way, we're way better than we were before", but to me, it's never ok to stop looking for progress's next step. Capitalism and democracy may be the best economic and government systems humanity has come up with yet, but it's not perfect and we're still riddled with corruption. We can do better and we should do better. We deserve better, from all of us, but especially from our leaders.
Thanking youtube recommendations returning to aiding in addiction to dope music. Always the best trips just hours of following wherever it takes you. It was the best way years ago to find unheard gems and older forgotten ones. And this is a gem no doubt
Thanks a lot for your song! I’ve been a numerous times in Ghana and Guinea and it always made me feel terrible that I don’t do enough ! I am in Ukraine now and my family is seating in shelter ! And your song still helps me go through ❤
You can only appreciate the meaning of the lyrics if at least one in your life you have been to nigeria feeling its streets full of life mixed with joy and the ongoing struggle for a better future, if you have experimented at least once how is dealing with its currupted political class (at every level). This song is poetry, intelligent, moving, deep. Thanks for your great work Nneka
This song rests one of my favorites of all artists I ever listened to. Thank you, Nneka ! so many years now that I feel good when I hear this "HHHH ..."
I dont know hot to describe this song... It Just gives you feel that there is something important in the world. Something bad whats happening. It lets you see things... Its actually sad...I cant really tell how it makes me feelll.... This is masterpiece...
Who's here in 2023 to savour this? I just got back here in 2023 to be in sync with this classic. I still get the same rush of adrenaline listening to this!
I dunno why this song popped into my head recently.... Been so long since I heard it. They usually played it on DRTV, Warri back in the day.. 2008-ish...
Man as much as it pains me to say it. It ain't going to change shit. If anything it will give the racists even more of a reason to hate. The thing I didn't like is when they targeted Churchills statue. If it wasn't for him we would all be an arian race blonde hair blue eyes.
@@metwix yeah but thing is with that attitude (I'll do this because they done that it worked before and it will work again kind of shit) the world isn't going to move forward at all it just makes people hate more. Its fucked up yeah but all this over a criminal, yeah the bloke was upset and stressed out from what I've seen in the video but jesus there's worse shit happening in the world right now other than a black man who was a criminal losing his life to a bunch of police. Just my 2 cents.
2022 and this still makes my heartbeat accelerate like mad, love ths song, so tense and good
true
I dey with you 💯
Good vibes my brother

2023 NNEKA FOREVER
So sad africa especially Nigerians don't recognize such genres of music, she's too underrated here☹️. I'm forever a fan Nneka🥰
Almost as bad as a feminist roommate dismissing it as the recommendation came from a dude.

Same in America.
You're correct... But I think some managed to be reckoned with like Asa and Cobhams

Everywhere on this planet is an ongoing (uphill) struggle for a better future, but only very very few places have joy ...
it's about africans. not about you (:
Larissa It's art. It's for everybody. People can read it the way they feel.

Morangos com Açúcar 7 #saudades
This is one of those songs that can just give me chills

Watched her 90 minutes live in Covent Garden, she smaller than you’d think, somehow voice deeper. Unforgettable evening
