The Dynapack North American rep is a friend of mine. I was planning on having him dyno my Supra but then watched your video and warned him about having to climb through the window. He laughed and called it "a rookie mistake." He said all you have to do is open the door before you hook up the dyno.
The new Supra was engineered with the assistance of BMW. Stock parts on the Supra's platform are on par and in many cases exceeds performance of aftermarket parts as shown in this vid. I've learned a long time ago with my BMW N55, that the real performance comes in the form of a tune, full aftermarket exhaust and quality fuel and or E85. If you want to hear turbo spool and show off the look, get a aftermarket open cone intake. Drop in aftermarket filter is the way to go, won't gain much performance, but the OEM intake system is pretty good. To each is own though, if you like sound and looks and don't mind paying a few hundred to a few thousand for a intake, by all means spend the money, but with the Supra platform, a tune, full exhaust, upgraded cooling (intercooler and heat exchanger), upgraded Turbos, 2 step colder plugs and corn fuel will turn that supra from a beast to monster. Great Vid Kies Motorsports.
Cold air intakes don't increase hp in turbo cars. What matters is the temperature after the turbo and not before, so an upgraded IC is what you are looking for in order to make power
Yeah, intakes just make it easier for the turbo spool, more free revving basically. No power gains at all. It's kinda hard to upgrade intercoolers on this since it's integrated in the intake plenum
I know this video is three years old so my comment doesn't help much. I'm curious if after the install you should've done some casual driving the allow the MAF the recalibrate. I was not expecting huge gains but at least a HP or two would've been nice.
"Even though they are not adding a ton of horsepower." You really mean "Even though they are losing horsepower on the dyno, they make up for it by sound." Thanks for the comparison. I'll pass on these intakes since intakes are only good for N/A motors. Turbo motors really don't need intakes until you turn up the boost and the filter size becomes the bottle neck for hitting peak boost.
BRYAN, MAKE THE F30 SPACERS VIDEO AND I WILL DISSAPPEAR!! WELL, NOT REALLY, BECAUSE I'LL ALWAYS WATCH EVERY VIDEO YOU MAKE, BUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE THE F30 SPACERS VIDEO!!!!
You should check out AMS's vid on torque based ECUs. explains why you dont see any gains with bolt ons and no tuning. ruclips.net/video/lM8EDVTZ-QM/видео.html&ab_channel=AMSPerformance
True MVP. Actually posting these hot air intakes for what they are.

I agree: Intakes on a BMW engine are pretty much worthless. Waste of money, IMO.
Damn... maybe I'll save money and not get a eventuri intake..
@@jsavoni6478 eventuri is the exception to the rule, they actually do make more power.
Brian getting this dyno was one of the best things to happen in 2020 🏎

These dont have air to air intercoolers.
BMW is notorious for making amazing stock intakes. For decades aftermarket intakes didnt really do much

would you be able to put the final results on screen rather than only saying them out loud? hard to find the data. just a suggestion :)
Love the Supra HP. Mr. Duke of Hazzard! 👍
I have the Agency Power intake in my 340i and the sound is definitely worth it to me.
I have to wonder what the intake temps were. Would channeling colder air in help boost hp?
LOL - Can’t find the sizing chart for the performance socks... are they a one size fits all? 🤔
Great work man! If that video was uploaded before the "how to install an AEM intake".... I would have never watched it 😂

What do you think of the supra personally Bryan?
Hey Brian! Could you do a video on the Power gains of a 328/428i (N20) with the Injen intake (not the Evolution intake) I'm curious!
I have question I have a 2015 2.0d xdrive x3 and It is 190 hp but ı see in other countrys x3 have 240 hp. Engines have any differences or same
Maybe cuz its a diesel
Good video I'll stick to stock 👍
What are the IATs when heat soaked?
Is it possible to add a heated steering wheel option by replacing your steering wheel in the F30?
I did it following this DIY: f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1231186
Do i need to tune if i install intake? Or is it bad for engine to install intake without tune?
No the ecu adjusts fuel trims for an increase of air coming in
Hey Kies! I was wondering what type of wing/spoiler does this supra uses, thanks in advance ✌️👍
it looks like SEIBON MB STYLE CARBON FIBER SPOILER or the LG Motorsports MKV Carbon Heritage Wing
Well , it seems Supra (the 2019 one) has more hp than the claimed 330 bhp
What fuel and tune platform?
93 and Bootmod
What fuel was he running on the stage 2?
JP's Perspective on this tune 93.

Saved me some money
Bruh! That is a very small window to crawl into
Hot air intake. But sound cooler intake. Seems that’s all.
hot air intakes are never great for any cars yet they're wanted for the sounds lmao

As i expected, it's only for the sound.
Can u make b58 produce 1600+ hp with stock block?? 2jz with stock iron block was do thatt
Papadakis did a build and got 1000+
Like expected
1st
Bmw supra
oh, that's original
