- Hi everyone! This was the day before the hurricane came to Orlando so we really wanted to make the most of any time we could spend in the parks. We had a lovely morning at IOA and a trip to the BK Whopper Bar on CityWalk. We also explored the backside of CityWalk to refamiliarise ourselves with the options available for dining and drinks.
A huge thank you to Universal for gifting us Express Passes for the day

Well a Hurricane is something different for your vacation.
The loop de loop is a heart line roll, but generally called the Mosasaurus roll.
Forbidden Journey can make me a little green too. We got collapsible cups which really work well for water at the free style machines. Great video

at least you know how florida does hurricanes now. most of those days we sit around watching the news and constant radar images while just waiting. the parks shut down but they reopen later and you get some entertainment in the lobby.
It was terrible seeing the destruction on the coast 😔

Love starting the weekend with a D3 vlog! My first Forbidden Journey experience took me out of commission for a while, but a few sips of
Butterbeer seemed to speed up my recovery. 3 years later, (said in Spongebob fashion) I refused to miss out so took Bonine and it was much better! Admire your "go with the flow" positive attitude!

VelociCoaster is a big no from me, I felt ill for hours after both rides, Rob & Kel loved it though. We enjoyed Poseidons fury in August it was our first time. We loved exploring city walk this time round.
Ah, that's such a pity but not worth pushing it if it makes you feel poorly. We tend to overlook that side of Citywalk but 100% want to try Pat O'Briens in the future 🤞
This year I took Stugeron motion sickness tablets and they worked a treat. Forbidden Journey used to ruin my day before with feeling sick.

It was many yrs ago the last time I went to Florida and the parks..... Whenever I watch things online about it, it just doesn't have the same buzz that it appeared to have back then 🤔 Still enjoy your travel videos though and very informative for ppl who haven't visited where you are vlogging 👍

Thanks for this. Twice I chickened out for Forbidden Journey at the entrance. Had geared myself up was put off by the staff lol. Fine on all coasters. Loved guardians but worried forbidden journey will make me feel ill 😮. Simpsons ride left me a little queasy but not Gringots. Will give it a try in April on our next trip maybe as will never know. Just scared I’ll be sick and humiliate myself 😂🤞

Strange how simulator rides knock you about so much, my worst one is Star Tours closely followed by The Simpsons regret it every time. Great vlog thanks for sharing

I’ve joined Jim in early retirement of the Forbidden Journey, it killed me off for hours. Weirdly and similarly, I too was fine in Feb, I guess there is power in numbers 😂 Loved the vlog 🎉 & your positivity about the hurricane Steph, when at the exact same time I was melting down and hyperventilating at home through the stress 😂 Have a good weekend xxxx

Hi Steph and Jim,thank you for the vlog.I arrived back from Universal yesterday,had a wonderful trip.I stayed at the Aventura Hotel,can’t say enough great things about this hotel,very sleek,modern,the bus service was great,never a long wait,you should consider a stay here in the future,I will.I had the fish and chips at Margaritaville,again amazing,huge portion too.Great to see your footage,wish I was back there again,lol.❤️

Funnily enough, we were watching Charlotte In Wonderland earlier and really like the look of Aventura. Jimmy thinks its amazing that you can control everything from the tablet. Looks really sleek and stylish too. Hope you manage to rest up over the weekend. Thanks for watching and take care ❤️
Thank you.Yes,I love the tablet,so easy to use,especially great that you can control the TV1 and lighting with it,no having to get out of bed if tired,lol.I loved that I could also walk to Sapphire Falls and use the water taxi,3 minute walk from Aventura to boarding the water taxi,another bonus.Aventura did not give me the impression it was a ‘cheaper’ Universal Hotel,great pool area too.
No better way to arrive than on one of the water taxis. It doesn't look remotely budget at all and seems great value for what you get. Definitely on our list now 😎
I agree Aventura was a pleasant surprise, stayed there last month. The iPad controlling everything was fun and they have a robot that makes deliveries. The pizza downstairs was great, um skip the sushi. If you stay at any on the Universal hotels above endless summer class, you can pool hop. I walked past Sapphire to the bridge to Cabana to try the lazy river. One and done tbh but I like the idea of pool hopping! I only used the Sapphire water boat like you, I love a water boat vs a bus, and going through security pre boat.
Sapphire falls is another resort we would love to try in the future. Looks top class
Love ADVENTURE Island but not so keen of the Hulk but it is impressive. Thanks for blog 👍

We always do Forbidden Journey once but it has to be tactically timed because it makes me feel awful after 🤢

The food in Bob Marleys is excellent only issue if you like it quiet as the music is very loud.
Pat Obriens is great food too and great atmosphere
We always tend to forget about the places on that strip. Definitely adding PG O'Briens to the list 👍
Forbidden Journey always makes me feel ill. But I love it 😢. To be fair, Transformers makes me ill too. For FJ, if I ride it before any other rides and before eating, keep my head pushed back and close my eyes during the screens, I can get in at least one go at it.
It felt a bit like the end of an era Crystal. A bit dramatic I know 😉😂.

We were there during the storm and was at islands of adventure the day before... These hurricanes and tropical storms seem to follow us about wherever we go 😂

whopper bar is like the test kitchen for BK. like how wendy's has the first kitchen concept in japan, shack shack has two branches a kitchen area and shake shack. basically burger king tests out a burger or a recipe and if it sells they will release fully to other places. the menu at whopper bar changes time to time adding or taking off things to try new thing along with standard menu. we never have the California whopper on a bk menu likely because its not selling well. its a trial under pressure scenario. shake shack does this too with the kitchen they run just to test things out. if it doesn't sell or it doesn't work the idea is reworked or scrapped and something else is put up.

Jim there might be feeling the storm early. a hurricane has a huge low pressure wave right in front of it, it effects some people differently and you don't now if you have it. basically the low pressure screws up your sense of balance and you could puke or worse. its about the same on the new york subway as that entire area is one over large low pressure zone but every time you get a light headache or pressure in your nose that is annoying. you might puke though you do eventually get used to itmost of the time.
I still think I'm permanently retired from Forbidden Journey mate 😉

Who's the daddy? Jim seems to have had a similar experience to me on our last trip. Forbidden Journey makes me feel sick these days (it's slightly out of sync to the pictures). The last time we went on a lady was guarding the stairs as her husband had expelled his breakfast down them! The Hulk scared the life out of me as just before the second section my head had been battered so much my vision started to strobe up and down. Luckily it had sorted itself before I got off the ride but it was a weird experience and one I don't ever want to repeat.

Hi Craig- not from memory but they do sometimes close it for 'cold' weather and it is a possibility in February but we had lovely warm days. If you are doing Mardi Gras at Universal then they have recently announced a dinner package that allows you to ride a float and throw beads to the crowds. That would be proper cool to do 👍
Also if visit during Mardi Gras the food booths sell a discount food lanyard, and it can be used at most sit down places too. Great deal.
If they have the halo halo ice cream it’s great.

Is harry potter rides like veloci coaster
Hi Helene. The Harry Potter rides are not as intense as Velocicoaster. Hagrids is a great coaster without inversions and forbidden journey is a simulator on a mechanical arm.
