Today's TOPIC: TOTAL SURRENDER OF WILL.
SCRIPTURE: Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. LUKE 22 verse 42, hallelujah!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The surest way to lose out in life and destiny is to follow your will at the expense of God’s Will.
Sometime ago, I saw one of our young men and I saw his trouser. Then I said, “Your trouser is afraid of the ground, it’s just hanging up like that. If I were to put on this your kind of trousers to preach, I think it would be good.”
He said, “No sir. This one will be bad for you sir.”
Today, we live in a generation where people want to do what they want, particularly young people.
As a young person, my counsel is, you must make up your mind to totally surrender your will to God and not claim to know all things.
The craving to do what one wants is the reason for the rebellion we see among the youth of our day. Many youths want to do things upside down. They want to follow their will, but they don’t know that following any will outside the Will of God leads to regrets. The surest way to lose out in life and destiny is to follow your will at the expense of God’s Will.
Sometime ago, God gave me a song with the lyrics:
1. Let me want what you want Oh my dear LORD.
Let me love what you love oh dear LORD.
That is how You designed life to be LORD
Help me LORD to live how I ought to live.
Oh! Lord take me to the place where I have no will.
That will separate from Your Will
Oh! LORD take me to the place where I have no choice that is separate from Your Choice
To be lost in You is my desire;
To be all for you is all I want.
This is the summary of a life of total surrender to the will of God.
Beloved, my counsel to you is: surrender your will to the Will of God. Allow God to take over your will, Make God’s Will your will.
Remember this: The surest way to lose out in life and destiny is to follow your will at the expense of God’s Will.
Take this ASSIGNMENT with you:
#1. Make a decision to daily deny yourself. Avoid the gratification of the flesh and the glorification of self.
#2. Discover God’s Will for your life and follow it diligently. Yes sir!
PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You reveal Your will to me. I receive the grace to totally surrender my will and make Your Will mine, Lord, in Jesus Name. Amen!
