I needed to come up with a way to use a compass to make a mandala and this showed me a way to do it perfectly. Simple enough or to get as detailed as I want. Then I am going to turn my drawing into a piece of stained glass hanging. Thanks for the tips.

I wanted to print off some of your mandala templates, but I found the lines too dark. Other than drawing my own, do you have any suggestions about lightening the lines on my print copy?

If I could live my 60 years over again, I would take all of the Art classes I could, in college, so that I could throw a clay pot on the wheel (actually have done that), and watercolor (yes I do), paint in oil & acrylic (nope, have never tried that!), paint the human form, photograph (I am a photographer), weave basket (not yet) make print art with woodcut. All of that is the fun in life. Plus, languages. Learning a language was the most important thing I ever learned in school, paving the way for traveling to many countries, looking into the eyes of many people and seeing each other--how are we alike? (99% alike I think) How are our cultures different? The infinite variety in life on earth. How exciting for you! You will go far, and do the things you dream of doing. And life is also suffering, love and loss, and I am sorry you will have to learn to deal with this also. Maybe without knowing sorrow, we cannot feel joy so completely. I wish that for all young people--I wish that you know love, and a feeling of joy that transports you into the sky to float on a cloud if only in your mind :-) Enjoy your life--and I am old--so I get to die first! The only thing that all humans do (at least the 100% who came before us). May your life be long; that's my prayer, amen. My I ask: what paper did you use and what material for the backing under the paper so that the compass point is secure?
I used a piece of thick cardboard :)
And I used regular printing paper!

I just used it to show you how to make the guidelines :) I did the same thing using pencils then, that I actually used to draw the mandala!

You could just draw the guidelines in pencil, then switch to the pen. Erase guideline when done.
