Ahhhh first of your hair looks amazing, secondly thank you for this recommendations. I just realized I am going through a reading slump because I’m choosing books I’m not interested in. I need a genre recall. Thank you for these ones (along with the warnings of the ones that are a slower read)
oh, thank you, maha!! 😍 yesss so much of being a reader is learning to select books that you will actually enjoy. i find this is something that i get slowly better & better at with the more books i read over time. so glad you enjoyed the video. 🤍🤍
august was a really good reading month for me too!!! I read 10 books and 4 of those I read during my women in translation read-a-thon video which was soooo much fun :') that last book you talked about 'what is mine' sounds soooo interesting, I'll love to pick up more Brazilian lit
amazing!! oh i haven’t seen that video of yours - i’ll check it out asap. i have loved all of the women in translation recs this year. i’m so glad you had such a happy reading month. What Is Mine is FANTASTIC; i went on & on about it for a reason! 😂 it’s definitely encouraged me to pick up more Brazilian lit too. 🤍
@@JemimaRose WIT reads are just sooo good!!! and if u want to read more brazilian lit i’m going to go ahead and recommend “crooked plow” it was longlisted in this years international booker prize and it’s a stunning coming of age following two daughters of this farmer. they’re 3 generations removed from the abolition of slavery and it touches on the conflicts after that with land and farmer unions :’))) really good!!!
