  • In today's video, I show you all how I made this brain-computer interface to control led lights. Using an electroencephalograph (EEG headset), the possibilities of control are nearly endless. I hope to use this technology for several of my future projects I have planned.

I remember buying these during my first few years of college.
I have a strong feeling that this will be the future of VR. Even if its a watered down version.
I dont think we are anywhere near SAO fulldive or anything like that but there are plenty of practical benefits to this technology with games and social platforms.
Just imagine a game reacting to you in real time, adjusting to how you feel.

Do you think that the EEG could more easily pick up signals that are very reinforced in the brain? For example, could it be used to play an instrument with your mind?
Expert musicians can read sheet music so well that the playing part just comes naturally. I assume that would generate a very strong signal.

@@shadow_spite7121 of course it’s possible, just maybe a little difficult. The words simple and electroencephalography don’t exactly go together lol. It takes a solid grasp of electrical signals and some computer ability to pull off engineering a headset with even a few electrodes from total scratch. I sure don’t think I could make a very good one. Build an exoskeleton for paraplegics and quadriplegic ppl to wear and link the EEG to the Motors by desired brain interface signals that are programmed according to each individuals thought processing .
It's at least some way to give persons with disability the option to move their limbs through thought processing with the help of a motorized exoskeleton suit . Make it lightweight out of carbon fibre and use the minimum acquired motors to achieve flexibility and movement for each joint of the limbs .
It can't be that difficult to create. And build the EEG system in a wearable helmet which will serve as a safety measurement.

After reading this, it can be assumed that along with remote neural devices, one improve upon the remotes to control another person even more, (by being able to speak through another person, move through their limbs, think through their mind or project your thoughts into theirs, etc).

Can EEG be used for speech like Stephen hawking

    • @quentin2578
      @quentin2578 Год назад

I’m not a subject-matter expert, but restoring speech involves the stimulation of neurons in a specific part of the brain called the Broca’s area and then the motor cortex to move one’s mouth, and therefore external EEG which is on the scalp, cannot effectively stimulate those neurons inside the brain to restore speech.
Neuralink will focus on invasive applications such as these in the coming years.

How much is this EEG thing? Can't wait for neuralink, wanna try making this.
Oh, right, I made the assumption it can be trained to recognize words? Even if it's 90% accurate I'm sure gpt4 could understand it.

Yeah nobody ever tells you these things are 2100 bucks just to have it work for 1 year and 3000 bucks if you want it to work for 3 years
These are incredibly easy to set up and have a process so well documented it basically requires no actual python coding as its lay user and can set it self up if you know what a github is and where to find configs.
what annoys me in the comment section of alot of gaming EEG videos is that normally people just assume that whoever uses this to play dark souls is some sort of genius, and that this is some cheap DIY project that said geniuses can do
    its really not
its an expensive project that anyone can do if they have the coinage for it
