  • This video covers the latest on Beryl, from wind and surge forecasts at the Texas coast to inland impacts, such as heavy rain and flooding, tornadoes, and strong winds. I also take a look at the weather well inland as the storm's remnants move into the Ozarks and Ohio Valley/lower Midwest.

I live 30 minutes from Surfside Beach, no one has been asked to evacuate anywhere else besides the beach. My concern is that it might intensify as it’s landing and everyone will all be asleep ..

I have lived on west end of galveston for 30 years. The reason they are not asking anyone to evacuate is because with these storms thatbare weaker they have found that more people end up dying in evacuation when they issue an order than in the actual storm. Make your own informed decision. This will be at worst a stronger category 1 storm. If you havent been through storms before then leave. If you have and you know how to hunker down for these then stay its up to you. But the reason they havent issued an evacuation order is because it will kill more people than the storm.

@@WesleyP75loveslockedonAstros in any disaster in Houston, most of the city does fine. You dont want to be on the roads, and get stuck. Just get your 72 hour kit and stay put. Leave the roads for people in low lying coastal areas.
These news and weather channels exagerate with their pictures and coverage. One was showing flooding along the san jacinto, and a house on stilts. People there dont mind the occasional flooding and like being next to the rivers. I was at a gas station once and there was a news station there at an intersection that has always flooded in heavy rains since i45 was built. I pointed that out to the camera man and he just smiled. Lazy dishonest reporting.
