You also have to keep in mind alot of people that are in decent shape are actually flexing their abs while their shirt is off. You can train yourself to keep your stomach a bit tight while breathing at the same time.
this doesn’t get talked about enough!
Yup. All people who were fat kids mastered this art at a young age
Yes true that bro. Unless you have very strong deep core muscles that sit behind the recurs abdominals… but you’ll usually see that on athletes versus just lifters.
Yea but this isn’t necessary to see visible abs. You can still have a nice set of abs without flexing them.
I was thinking that's why Liver King's abs kind of look like implants, he's just constantly flexing
This is a podcast I could listen to while at work all day
Reverse crunches with proper technique is a game changer... it’s the only thing that has dramatically targeted my lower abs.. 2 weeks in and I’ve seen way more definition.. finally starting to get V look
Leg raise ab spike hit the lower abs super well, do it also and hold at 90 degrees.
Weighted drop set with leg raises(legs straight and bent), weighted decline sit ups/Romanian twists and ab wheel/core coasters made my abs pop
Love this channel mate ... so helpful
Great info. Thank as usual
All perfect stuff, decline, and don’t use legs and hips, hold a weight on chest if u can too. Solid Gold!
Perfect stuff, do you mean perfect form on every rep ?
@@nukanszn8237 No ! He means that all excercises or techniques they have mentioned in the video are a perfect way to get a good sixpack ( Rectus Abdominis ) .
Decline crunches are where its at 👍🏼 got a lot of development from that alone
Bro this channel is amazing
Decline leg raises and cable crunches are the best exercises hands down for building the rectus muscles
Totally agree. I work on my low abs/obliques by laying on my couch without the back pillows. I hold the structure and position my butt on the edge, so my pelvis can tilt and stretch my abs, then they are still under tension when I flex.
Same thing for the obliques but being on one glute.
It's killing.
What he said about the legs raises is facts i tried doing them with the proper form and almost lost breath at 11 reps
This Channel will blow up in the next months
Yo I think so too
I did 50 reps on ab machine 3-4 sets daily for 60 days and have retained super 6 pack with like 12-15%
< 100,000 subs is criminal - this channel dope af
Ab wheel. Awesome.
Leg raises are a great cali exercise but few people do it correctly
I do knee raises because my flexibility inhibits straight legged. I’m working on my flexibility
Personally i use a neutral grip. And rarely do over 10 reps. Every once in a while I will static hold in an L sit and rep out a few neutral grip pullups and my abs are now bricks lol even at a higher body fat % then I should probably be
Great information
Resistance band sit ups staying in the tension range
@Mindset Fitness yea you can get creative with them. Can do feet/knee anchored sit ups or a more rolling style, bringing your legs up in the air, but still pulling the band from behind you. Also great strapped to your feet for leg raises or pulling knees up toward the chest, either lying on the floor or with a more roman chair style set up. Just use something like a strong stair railing post or couch leg to wrap it around....i like them far better than any kind of free weight for adding resistance to ab work as i really seem to be able to get all the stress on my abs.
How do you do decline or incline without using your hip flexors? Actually asking. I thought it was impossible without janda
Why isn't the channel way bigger?
Shhhhhh... it’s a secret
There is going to be that wtf moment where the figures just rack up and rack up. RUclips algorithm likes to brew the hurricane.. then it will spit out recommendations to millions of people and bam.
Its been growing recently i think so thats good. Ive been loving their content for 2 weeks now, they definitely deserve a bigger audience but that will come in due time
@@uelude this appeared on my recommendations like a week ago and now I'm addicted to the channel. This channel will definitely explode sooner rather than later
not enough calories and rest
Love this channel man
Feeling the muscles was my main problem. I could lift hundreds of pounds for some lifts and barely got gains. Now I can use real light dumbbells and get great results by actually using the muscles.
Hypertrophy summed up for you
Back in HS I had Terrible form, but was really strong for my weight. But now I focus on great form, muscle control, speed, negatives.....I feel like my workouts are much better, less injury prone and will let me build a solid foundation instead of trying to throw my whole body into bicep curls just to say I did xxx weight. I'm not a powerlifter, so who cares about the lbs. Definitely finding muscles I neglected when I was "strong"
Dorain Yates style
Idk what he called it or how to spell it but i call it myltatic crunch with that bosu ball best ab exercise ever for me that was my night and day exrecise
I have some questions, how can I get you guys to answer them? Thanks.
What about bosu ball weighted crunches?
50 year old man at my gym with crazy abs, chest and shoulder. He just does deadlift, squat, bench press, pull ups. The normal stuff
Lol compound lifts aren’t going to build your abs optimally this has been debunked so many times. If it did then planks would give you super thick abs, they don’t. it’s just isometric stability. You want full rom and targeted intensity like any other muscle
He’s juiced to the gills m8
Which video do you think has the best guide to hanging leg raises?
Chris herias channel
Are any machines worth it ?
Your hip flexors should with in conjunction with your abs on Ab pulldowns, leg raises, and decline sit-ups. These exercises are great for a strong squat and deadlift because of that first sentence.
True but often times people are hip flexor dominant
Cable Crunches 3-5 sets x 6-15 reps 2-3x a week-
Schecter with EMGs in the background. I would love to chug and crank that stack.
Army PT test is the only time I have really killed abs
92 sit ups in 2 minutes
3 sets of solid dragonflags per week and a good body positure during the day does the job
you need to put mass on before you get into high reps. I did hundreds of crunches daily in high school, but it wasn't until I started DLs, pull ups, and squatting that I started to pop. I do weighted crunches 2 times a week now, 4 sets of 20-30. This aided a bit in getting hardness/definition, but not mass. I could cut them out, keep pull ups, squats, dls and still have a great 6 pack. I will admit to marginal aesthetic improvement, but when when I was doing crunches with bis and tris in H.S. nada.
If your sitting at 8% body fat you are gonna have visible abs regardless... I think it’s safe to say you were never at 8%
*you're
@@clarenceboddiker9559 ok Clarence
Sounds about right
@@coastaldetailsofcharleston his point was they weren't as defined as they should have been at 8%
@@SASMADBRUV7 my point is they were never at 8%... 8% you could damn near compete at a show, go look up what 8 percent body fat looks like n then come back to me.
Frustrating when watching 'professional' fitness people on RUclips do an ab rollout or a leg raise and seeing their back arch more than an exorcism
You have to flex and push your back down so it doesn't arch
how about they stand out like abs?
Single arm movements. Make anything single arm. Farmer carry, ohp, bss, etc..
j
The way that they nonchalantly bring up promos reminds me of when a dad says “I think Santa came👀👀👀”
I can do 10 legs raises perfectly? It not "VERY VERY" difficult but ok?
I actually think I have bad genetics, O can get my arms, back, chest, legs shredded in competition, but never my abs, I have to really flex to make a 4 pack kinda visible.
Do they even lift
Most trainers look like they don’t lmao
Decline sit-ups are a terrible exercise, unless you'd like to prolapse a disc or three in the lumbar
If you’re doing them incorrectly
Yes they’re bad, decline crunches are good but sit-ups is asking for problems
In every conceivable situation sit ups are garbage and crunches are the way to go.
What makes these blokes experts?
just look how shredded they are
They’ve been trainers for a combined total of like 30+ years. And they don’t only train dudes looking for muscle. They train people of all different backgrounds and goals. That experience helps provide a lot of valuable insight on topics
@@chrisd2430 true, my comment was in jest
@@chrisd2430 fair enough. But they speak with such authority I thought they’d trained Olympic athletes to medals etc. I’ve trained for 20 plus years but wouldn’t speak with such self assured authority.
@@platogenova9573 they speak primarily from experience, that’s why it probably comes off as “authority”. They’re confident in what they’re saying based off their collective experience. It’s one of those take it or leave it things yanno? But I find for the average person looking to get into good shape but not trying to win medals or anything, these guys usually give very relatable advice. I believe the main value they offer is how they make things stupid easy to understand for those who don’t understand it (one of the skills they’ve obtained training 1000+ clients over a lifetime)
"You couldn't see that I have a six pack" "Then years later it dawned on me, I don't have muscular abbs"
He isn't exactly the brightest, is he.
shut up
Right years or successful training of clients.... not the brightest I guess
I think he sees god, maybe that’s why he looks up
This title is great for getting views but no exercise will make your abs stand out like bricks. Lol.
We all already have abs they are just covered by layers of fat. The fat is removed by mostly diet and cardio. Ab exercises are important to strengthen the stomach muscles but are only the 3rd most important thing on the list to get a 6 pack.
If you had to take a class in getting a 6 pack your diet would be 70% of your grade or more...cardio would be 20%, and ab exercises like crunches, bicycles, and leg raises would be 10%.
I am being generous too...diet might be even 80% of the battle. Genetics play a role too. It's easier for some people.
@Derek Gabrys This is the truth that most people don’t know and others don’t want to admit. With diet alone, a thin person can get their abs to show.
I had always been thin growing up and only weighed 140 when I graduated from HS. I worked out often and had a six-pack if I flexed but a flat stomach without flexing. I had finally started “eating clean,” fasting, and completely avoiding all processed foods when my six-pack began to show without flexing. Number one ingredient is diet; no ifs ands or buts about it.
When you build your abs they will show at a higher body fat.
@Mindset Fitness no I don’t. The more built your abs are, the more they will show at higher body fat levels. The less they are built the lower you need your body fat to be for them to show.
@@mjg29x Please explain how that is physically possible
@@agontprevarator5214 through resistance training obviously.
You don’t need to do core exercises if you’re doing heavy compound lifts
False
@@KeemvsKeem how so? I stopped training core directly after hearing about bodybuilders (like Greg doucette) saying that direct core work isn’t necessary and my six pack is just as detailed as ever.
@@chgenerationx if we are talking about get developed abs or “brick-like” abs, you’re definitely going need to use ab specific movements more than just stabilization through compound lifts. Yes compound will give you decent stability in the abs but what about vacuums for aesthetic shape and working the transverse abs, referring to our natural “weight belt”. What about definition exercises like mentioned in the video, lower leg lifts and lumbar crunchs stimulate the abs differently and ultimately INCREASE your overall strength for compound lifts b/c you abs can handle more in various positions.we didn’t even mention the transverse plane either, rotational work for the obliques.
After thinking a little Taylor I do have more 50/50 view from body building and performance to that’s where my POV stems from. Performance goals IMO need to be worried about extreme ranges of motion so that’s why I brought up the planes of rotation which the big 3 or 5 (w/e lol) only focus on one
Agree. Correct form when doing compound lifts recruits the muscles in the core…Visible abs has more to do with diet than specific ab exercises.
No useful information here just them trying to sell supplements
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cory g fitness works out his abs every morning and night with weights. And he has like abs like bricks 🧱
