    I have always understood predestination to mean that everyone is predestined to be the elect through Christ if you accept Him. I mean the bible clearly says that God wishes all to be saved. I mean, obviously everyone was predestined to be fallen from the foundations of the world as well.

      The question posed to Nicodemus is kind of redundant since he could not have been born again until after the death burial and resurrection..
      Him being a teacher of the law would have no bearing, no one had a clue as to what would transpire when the Christ came..

      What did Jesus mean when he said many are called but few are chosen?? You cannot believe he is talking about Calvinism. Because Calvinism says that most people go to Hell and in that parable only one person was cast out and who was that? It was the one person who didn’t have on the correct wedding garment ( the righteousness of Christ) that parable disproves Calvinism.

      I have rarely, if ever, seen a more brilliant display of profound ignorance about what we believe than what you have offered here. Where do you people get this garbage? It is likely that your comments do not merit a response. Nevertheless, I will answer each of them one by one. You wrote, " Due to the following reasons Calvinism is a doctrine of demons:
      -1. it denies the faith by which we are justified to he saved (Romans 5:1-2; Romans 1:17, Habakuk 2:4). Why does Paul the apostle exhorts Corinthians to examine themselves (2 Corinthians 13:5) whether they are in the faith then? The answer is clear, because justification is by faith, how do you examine yourself whether you are in the predestination?
      I dare you to provide a quote from any reputable Calvinist that gives the slightest indication that we deny the faith by which we are justified. We believe that justification before God is by faith alone in Christ alone.
      Additionally, Peter exhorted his readers to make sure for themselves [middle voice] of their calling and election. One must do that by making sure of their conversion.

      2. " It makes the Lord a liar by invalidating His Promise with Abraham through whom all families and nations were going to be
      blessed (Genesis 22:18; Hebrew 6:13-20)."
      God did not promise Abraham that He intended to save every member of the Gentile world anymore than He intended to save every physical member of Abraham's family. His promise was that He intended to extend the blessings of the gospel to Gentile nations as well as to the heirs of Abraham. God is always faithful to do what He has promised.

      3. You wrote " It attacks the Cross of calvary by arguing that Christ the propitiation of “elected people’s sins only; it’s very opposite, He is the propitiation of
      the whole world’s sins (1 John 2:1-2)."
      Calvinists believe that the death of Christ was of infinite value and abundantly sufficient for the expiation of the sins of the whole world. Its sufficiency is not the issue. We believe Jesus' death was sufficient to justify every sinner had that been God's purpose. The issue is whether He intended to secure the eternal redemption of every sinner whether they believe or not. Do you truly believe that it was God's intention to secure all the blessings of the New Covenant for those who will perish in unbelief?
      Yes, Jesus is the propitiation [notice that the text does not say he MADE propitiation for the whole world] for the whole world. There is no other propitiation. If any sinner desires to be put right with God, there is no other satisfactory sacrifice. He IS the propitiation for the whole world. No other propitiation exists.

    How very thankful I personally am for Pastor Lawson - who is one of the ever fewer Pastors/Teachers that challenges his congregations to think about what does "the word of the Lord" say - for his desire is that those who truly are Biblically "born again" believers and followers of "our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" might believe and "know the certainty of the words of truth":
    [9] ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine?
    them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
    [10] For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept;
    line upon line, line upon line;
    here a little, and there a little:
    (Isaiah, Chapter 29 ~ KJB)
    [15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
    a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
    rightly dividing the word of truth.
    [16] But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
    (2 Timothy, Chapter 2 ~ KJB)
    [11] ¶ Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water,
    but of hearing the words of the LORD:
    [12] And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east,
    they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
    [13] In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.
    [14] They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth;
    and, The manner of Beer-sheba liveth;
    even they shall fall, and never rise up again.
    (Amos, Chapter 8 ~ KJB)

Evolution explains why our sin comes from our flesh, it explains why we are slaves to our sin, and it gives context to the Fall in the Garden of Eden.... and evolution explains those things sooo so so so much better than the prideful legalism of Calvin ever could. The book of Hebrews teaches that we are in bondage to the devil because of our fear of death. That survival instinct is a direct result of, and explained by, evolution. The fact that such an instinct has been developed and ingrained over literally billions of years shows why we are powerless to overcome it on our own.

    The rules, and peice movement are all determined, but you have freedom in how you "play" the game. Same with sports. Just because there are rules does not mean you don't have freedom to choose. If you walk off a cliff and fall to your death you wouldn't blame gravity, but you have the choice to not walk off the cliff. You have freedom within the rules, but not freedom from the consequences of ignoring the rules.

Paul wrote concerning his Jewish brethren, "Even so at the present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace [He is clearly not speaking about national election but about election to spiritual blessing in Christ] . . ."What then?" Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it and THE REST WERE BLINDED" (Rom 11:7). There is no save the person who is not one of the elect.Those who are not yet Saved cannot know whether they are elect or not until they die, become believers,or if they commit the unpardonable sin and God reveals that to them.

      Samuel Foley There is no verse that explicitly says only the elect are saved, but there is a verse that says the saved are elect and were chosen before the foundation of the world (Eph 1:4). So we know from this verse that there is no way a person can be saved without being chosen by God for salvation from the foundation of the world. I feel Mr Lawson wants us to believe there’s a possibility one can be saved without being elect, that’s not true because the Bible clearly says if a person become saved God predestined and elected that person before the foundation of the world.

      Ben,
      Does the "I will" mean you will debate me? That would be great.
      You must know that Calvinists don't deny free will in the since that sinners are the responsible and reasonable actors in all the decisions they make. Still, I am far more impressed with the grandfathers of the Church than with the fathers. There is a great deal of heresy in the writings of the so-called Church Fathers. I don't think I recall Jesus promising apostolic succession or giving apostolic authority to any beyond the orignaI apostles.
      I would be interested in seeing a biblical quotation indicating that sinners, born in the image of Adam are able, of their own volition, to remove their own stony hearts and replace them with hearts of flesh. Perhaps an Ethiopian can change the color of his skin and or a leopard can choose to change his spots to stripes. Perhaps a noxious plant can decide to make its root good. What foolishness one could derive from the silly quotation you have given us.

    • @TheBereanVoice
      @TheBereanVoice 6 лет назад

      If Irenaeus were correct [and cited in context] there would be no need for regeneration either causally [not chronologically] prior to repentance and faith or subsequent to the sinner's free reception of Christ. Jesus probably should have told Nicodemus, "It would be really nice if you would be born from above, but it truly isn't necessary." Perhaps Paul should have told the Corinthians that sinners are able to remedy their Satanically caused blindness by an act of their free will. After all, who needs the God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness [a creative act] to shine into sinners' hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Free will can be their savior. Who needs God to get involved?

    • @TheBereanVoice
      @TheBereanVoice 6 лет назад

      Ben,
      Remember that Irenaeus was writing against the Gnostic heresy, one of whose doctrines was that some are created spiritual beings and therefore good by nature and capable of gnosis and others are material beings, evil by nature and incapable of gnosis. For these heretics, "free will" in the sense that human beings are created with reason and freedom to choose according to their highest inclination at a given time, did not exist.
      In order to understand the answer a person is giving, it is important to understand the question he is answering.

    Lamentation 5:10 etc all happened to black people. The real Hebrew are black people nation of the world. Blacks people are the chosen but because we forsake His Law we are given into bondage of captivity, unlawful imprisonment, slavery, poverty, and famine. Through, our hope Messiah, however, gentiles are invited to join hope of glory just to make Israel jealous. As our messiah said as well ”And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd” John 10:16 gentiles whether you are Greek or Arab, Anglo-Saxon or whatever you are invited and granted this unspeakable gift of Almighty creator of all. Which is admirable and of course should make Israel (black people) makes jealous as we were the only chosen and accepted ones who were elected to serve and worship him. But we time and again turned our face from the Most High Amlake (creator) and so we are seen through history being forgotten nation, deprived, without knowledge of our history or who we are to that matter.
    I love everyone who believes in the Messiah, but the truth needs to be told as it is. We are all called through Him but Israel is the chosen people that we see today landless, Godless, lawless, etc. The time will come all black people will wake up from the deep sleep. Pray for Israel so Almighty wakes us up, so he gathers us from the places we are taken and held as a hostage to this days. Pray the poverty yoke the heathen brought up on our African and Islanders nation shall be lifted. Pray so our messiah comes quickly to deliver us.
    There is no other nation other than black people who endured the curse of almighty Gid as we have forsaken his law. What does that tell you? True Israelites are BLACK PEOPLE! the ones who claim they are ”jew” which is a none existent word in holy scripture is not true Hebrew Israelites. Revelation 3: 9 ”Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee”
    I love pastor Lawson and His teaching but I beg to differ on the explanation of who true Israelites are. We must be able to point to the forgiven nation if we believe the Bible is the true word of the living God. So when we look around we only find the 12 tribes of Israel being forgotten and under an invisible chain of the heathen.
    Africans (Dan and Judah), black Americans (Judah) Hispanics (Ephrem) islanders (Zebulun) etc are the 12 tribes of Israel.

If that were the case, then people positing contradictory ideas would all be teaching God's truth simply because they are using verses of Scripture. I would imagine that he is a very nice man but he has been badly misinformed.

    Why do you people all have to say "verse NUMBER one?" Just say verse one and you won't sound so ignorant.

      "The elect have obtained it [a righteous standing before God] and the rest were blinded." That clearly teaches that only the elect will be saved.
