Hey .. Will surely try.. Over the years.. My mum in law has been making this curry.. With her own masala she makes and stores...and I'm so glad I saw the recipe.. Thank you...
You're most welcome, Dulcina. I researched this curry quite a lot and learnt that in the past, it was made with 21 spices! These included fenugreek and mustard in small quantities! That's why I decided to add these.
I just subscribed your channel and invited a few friend n asked them also to subscribe n spread it out because I made the curry unfortunately with fresh prawns but the taste was mind blowing my wife my kids n friends says Hats off to you and God bless you abundantly. Now I will watch all other recipes.
Thanks for the appreciation, Parul. And no, the curry doesn't become too sour. That's because, keeping in mind that addition of the raw mango, we keep the use of tamarind to the minimum in this recipe.
Glad to know that, Jocyleen. Apparently, in different parts of Goa, people use a different spice mix for this curry. Do you all make it with a similar spice mix as mine? Or something different?
Thanks for the appreciation, Nutan. I can understand why you felt the need to increase the chilli powder in the recipe. I tend to keep the spiciness to a moderate level.
Guru, the raw mango slices taste really good once they're cooked in the curry. So raw mango powder can't be a replacement. You can just drop the raw mango slices. Perhaps add a little more tamarind extract, if you want.
