I think it's cuz the game was supposed to be short, adding such guards to the game may cause an imbalance since your not only running away from monsters, but random gun wielding officers, and thus they may need to add more rooms where the guards could possibly come from along with places the player could hide

Well I guess the devs DO knew that you won't follow them all the way to the light cont zone, so they didn't really bother to develop a good AI for mtf.

Wouldn't it be cool if they added so there would be maybe some D-classes and scientists to walk around the facility trying to escape/be safe so like maybe if you're lucky you could find one or two working to escape the facility and then if it was a D-class then the AI would maybe team with you depending on your actions and such and maybe he will ditch you like closing doors on you to save himself or for an example a scientist if you meet one they will maybe try and trick you so they can escape or maybe just run away from you/try their best to kill you. Idk but I like the idea tbh xD

Actually The Girl triggers that because thats a trigger cutscene so if you get closer it will trigger anyways you need to wait away from that trigger and let the NTF Epsilon-11 To do their job
Actually they can't disable it while the Tesla gate room has cutscenes. So if you did not trigger the cutscenes. welp. The MTF might go through Tesla gate or stay there.

I know im late, but I would design some scripted sequencees that show the MTF walking around the facility and shooting some SCPs to give the player a false sense of security before he actually encounters them

Man thats not they problem. This is Blitz3D engine is very old and bad. But this game looks very good in this engine.
They are updating the engine for 1.4
Textures could be a bit higher resolution and all the models expect simple things need more polygons like guards and guns Class-D and MTF.

They do that animation when they spot a hostile (Class D personnel, 049-2 and 008).
The spawning area can use some work because when the player is super far away they teleport in a door and some of them get stuck above the door.
