- If the church has a low view of God, its light will be dim, and the darkness will not be pushed back. Today, our concept of God is often sentimental rather than biblically based. Many people embrace what has been called “moralistic therapeutic deism,” a view of God that says He exists to make us feel good about ourselves, and that He involves Himself in our lives only to affirm us and solve our problems. As long as we do not properly grasp the transcendent majesty and holiness of God, our light will not pierce the darkness. In this message, Dr. Steven J. Thank you Dr. Lawson for this detailed expository message. Thank you for the explanations that make understanding the text so much easier. I just sent this to my son who is in the Military in Canada and undergoing some rigorous training at the moment. He is not a believer but is questioning so I want him to here just how great our God is, even in troubling times. This was so uplifting to my spirit. Thank you!

VenetianSnus Properly understood, this preacher's sermon is Biblical and sound doctrine of God. There is no reason whatsoever to hate this preacher and his sermon. May the Spirit of God lead you to the truth about God as found in the Bible; then and only then will you appreciate and love this sermon and not hate this preacher, who is a humble servant for the Lord.
But who would be dumb enough to believe another persons writings came from God, if those writings support the death penalty for minor offenses? Steve Lawson is the worst kind of liar from head to toe. As you are either a liar, or deceived and gullible.
VenetianSnus Your failure comes in believing that since some sin is only a minor offense to you, then it must be a minor offense to Holy God as well, who judged this sin in a manner to which you disagree. His thoughts and ways are above your ways and you speak as an authority unaware of the fact there is much that you simply do not understand. You love and trivialize what God hates which is the problem with this cosmos.
If you're correct God ordained all of it including my misunderstanding, and there's no such thing as a "problem with this cosmos". Child rape, and lesser sins, are all decrees of your somehow still perfect God. Try as you might you can't reconcile such foolishness though.
