I like what it adds to Battletrap and Nightbird, but I think at this rate I just want to get the Baiwei Scourge.
I think that the 3-pack is a pretty good deal, especially with these new colors for the Scourge upgrade kit.
I agree with it works-ish. I got my kit about 5 days ago and everything for the most part…being Battletrap and Nightbird… works great. But the shoulder pieces for scourge…they fell very short of my expectations. I thought I was crazy or doing something wrong but you have the same issue as I have with mine. The front grill won’t stay in place. The shoulder joints don’t line up right…it looks great if you plan to keep scourge in robot mode but if you want to be able transform Scourge…I’d go without the new shoulder pieces. Just my two cents. For the value. Absolutely worth it if for only Battletrap.

Scourge's new shoulders are also a lot smaller. And impeding the transformation like that... bleh. At this point I'm tired of the peripheral frippery that comes in most upgrade kits, and I'm like holy s*** can we please just get a kit that fixes his transformation issue?! I've only transformed my Scourge once and it hasn't cracked, but that's probably because I've only done it ONCE, and now I'm afraid to handle the thing. I realize a kit like that would replace his entire torso, but as someone in the comments said, these kits from DNA are eh, already more or less on the path to making their own figure anyway.
Just wish I could get a kit JUST for Battletrap. I don’t mind inaccurate Scourge, I actually kinda like the toy design better than the movie. And I don’t even own Nightbird, nor do I plan on getting her.
I don't remember the movie and I never watched the original scourge review, but I like the original shoulders more. The new tiny ones look weird.

I personally prefer the bigger shoulder pads since it gives scourge a lot more presence/a bit of an RID 2001 homage.
Also it would be funny if DNA releases a 3rd kit for scourge just to replace his toes. Since that's the only inaccurate part left

I got this kit not too long ago emgo and I gotta tell you, the parts for scourge is just a hassle and a pain in the rear trying to get him transformed into truck mode, the front just wants to fight me now

Ngl, I only wanna get this kit for Nightbird, thise wings go such a long way in improving the fugure that Im willing to justify the purchase, and when I eventually get Battletrap and Scourge, Ill have some extra parts for em too, tho honestly seeing how fiddly the transformation for Scourge becomes, Ill pass on the shoulder mod, besides I like how thwy looked more before so eh
I think the battletrap and nightbird upgrades are amazing, but the scourge upgrade is kinda odd in my opinion.
Scourge is more Upgrade Kit than Official Toy at this point lol.
Ya know I simply do not throw away any packaging that comes with my toys bc some of them come with an amazing background artwork display so I can replicate every single thing that happened in the films and so forth which is totally Puptastic and PAWSOME bc it's so cool to do that with anything out there!!

Yes he can! And....kinda? 😂😂 It definitely looks better than the giant claw.
I personally thought the 1st upgrade with the new blade and claws and filler pieces were enough though I do like the extra left hand for Scourge with this kit! With that being said I absolutely WOULDN'T switch out those shoulders at all. I saw when you were transforming him that the arms had to be pushed DOWN into the slider notch while the shoulder pieces had to be pulled UP the central column. So that the new hood pieces could be shifted. ALL the wear from pushing down on the arms and pulling up on the shoulders will make that plastic crack or break in no time. I'd rather wait on a completely NEW updated figure than break this ONE figure from so much add-ons. However the upgrades for Battle trap and Nightbird weren't so drastic in their effect on the figures themselves! Thank You for reviewing this upgrade kit EMGO, definitely helps us decide what We want.

@DiegoA-bv2gj, it's a late reply, but it doesn't seem to be. I've watched several videos to make sure I'm getting my money's worth, and it seems that, like Emgo stated, all figures tolerance is different. Meaning this can go well or atrociously badly.
@@DiegoA-bv2gj I didn’t see the notification for this. But if you don’t have it yet. It’s not worth it solely for the shoulders. The transformation doesn’t work well anymore and like I said. It broke the tabs of scourge so I was forced to put the original shoulders back on. It improves Nightbird for me

I personally had no issues with either of the kits, so I guess I got very lucky. Mileage may vary is definitely something to live by with 3rd party and upgrade kits. 😂 Great review as always Em, keep em coming!
Just installed mine, and jeeze they ruin the transformations. Scourge’s truck mode is basically impossible to do without him falling apart and having tons of untabbed tabs. Nightbird ain’t much better. Battle trap comes out pretty great tho.
I wouldn’t say it ruins Nightbird’s but it does seem strange.
