I had memories of watching this when I was a kid, but I was starting to think I had imagined it! All I could remember was the actress who played the farmer's wife in Worzel Gummidge ( Megs Jenkins) was in it, I wouldn't have known who John Mills was when I was a kid. Thank you for sharing this.
wow i never thought id see this again, i used to watch this with my late father. My maternal grandparents were in a few episodes as extras so i remember the excitement when it would come onto our TV each week much like the same feeling when i found these 2 episodes here. If you have any more id be incredibly grateful if you could post them please? There are some brilliant other memories on your channel too. Its good to know they still exist but frustrating they have never been released on DVD etc Thankyou so much for all your posts long may you continue. Thanks again
@@chriswatkin5476 "I actually mistook this for a different drama with these actors also in it, where the husband plans a day trip to blackpool and tries to hide it from his wife. That was very good and seemed like a little film. Your comment prompted me to recheck this one, and I hadn't seen it at all. Thanks😊
How do people live so close to the street? But that was nice what she told him when he hurt his leg giving her 40 years of happiness.. and so much true the response she got for it. It does take two to keep the boat sailing steady. 😊 How nice. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
this is awesome along with others on this channel, but i should have remembered this but i dont i never saw it before.its 80/81 and i would have been then 20/21 and i had left home already,i would not have watched this more likely the young ones .maybe at first i did not have a tv but an amplifier and warfedale speakers and rock albums.i left the uk for the netherlands 22 years ago and well dutch tv is not the same.So when i find myself looking for something classic and british its a breath of fresh air,i have done all the dads army series 4 or 5 times over, and the same with on the buses .but this one gave me a problem with the male character hm?? like i know who it is but ,who is it?i see the name there john mills but it still does not sink in!? And then i got it its john mills!from so many war movies! so i also see now its the only sit-com john mills ever was in.Anyway now i am 63 in a month and this series is very funny.didnt he actualy get a knighthood so he is sir john mills?
Selwyn Froggit's mum! Can't believe I never saw this when it came out, I was an avid watcher of sitcoms as a child. It's not that bad by the standards of the day either, though I presume Sir John Mills had a large tax bill to pay the year he made it.
I’ve just realised why the neighbour looked familiar. Play Away with Derrick Griffiths and Brian Cant, etc. She was also in Block something or other I just can’t remember the proper name.
Now in England it's all illegal boat people, drugs, knife crime, prostitutes, gangs, crime, riots, massive homelessness, looting shops, kids carrying knives on the streets, muggings. What happened to peace and quiet and tea and scones and lovely picnics in the park or a day out at the sea side?.. It's very sad to see England in such a sad state.
To be fair most of England is still pretty nice but I agree, the bad stuff is increasing, and the government seem to be dead set on encouraging the decline as quickly as possible.
Always been Drugs/ knife crime/ prostitutes/ riots/ looting shops, England has some beautiful places to go in the country side, I go away and book cottages to stay in twice or three times a year.
@@PumaLyn And???, I don't quite think this is the demographic responsible for the boat people, drugs, knife crimes, prostitutes, gangs, riots or homelessness, looting or knifing. Strikes me that the group you need to least worry about are the people about who you have senseless prejudices, they have likely done zip to tick you off it's the face in the mirror you need to be concerned about.
More of these please! So nice to watch! Thanks!
I live just over the bank to where this was filmed ,I was 15 at the time it was aired ,awesome memories

Only because no one had anything worth pinching.
