Nice to see every step of the process of the wheel lift hook up, chain hook up, supplying air, caging brakes, tow lights and dropping the trailer. You are the most thorough wrecker operator, that I have ever seen, I guess that's the difference between owner and employee. This video is going in my favorite category.
I have spent the last week watching your Vids I cannot believe how entertaining they are, just watching someone working and a tutorial at every step of the way. I have not switched on my TV this week, 1,2,3 vids a night and I am done... Good editing...Safety First....No Cussing....Refreshing Reality TV...God Bless You Man..
Thank you so very much for such kind remarks. I try to keep my channel family friendly and I am honored I won out over the television for a few days. Welcome to my channel and I hope I continue to keep you interested. God bless.
I love/appreciate the way ron always teaches as he goes in the video and tells the reasons why he does things the way he does them. The way he secures them tow chains doubles their affectiveness and doing everything the same way everytime ensures you are much less likely to forget a step or forget to do something crucial. I also love that he insist on doing a final walk around. This shows he is a consummated professional of his trade. The fact that he practices and tries to pass these skills onto the next generation makes him an outstanding one. He is correct that it is all too easy to get in a rush and not do things correctly to save time, but the risks associated with such behaviors far outweigh any possible short term benefits. The co-workers, clients, supervisors, insurance companies, law enforcement and judges won't except excuses when things go sideways and you took a shortcut and didn't do something that could have prevented it.
where were you when I was managing Trucks. I sure could of used a man with attention to safety. Well done in my eyes! May God continue to bless you and your crew!
Ron, I agree with the safety aspects. One never knows what could/might happen in one mile, one city block or 20 miles. Sure it takes extra time, but best to CYA!
I haven't had any problem hearing but about one of the hundred videos I've watched, but it still sounds good. As far as the tow goes, I couldn't agree more! Always a pleasure Ron!
Great, I am so glad to have that feedback. Likely the one you had difficulty hearing was when I was having trouble with a microphone malfunction. God bless and stay safe.
Ron no one should ever criticize the way you do your job like u said whether you go 1 mile or 1000’s of miles always secure the vehicle being towed like u said if it comes off truck it’s on tow truck driver not anyone else 29:15
I always admire the systematic approach you have to the jobs you undertake and your commitment to safety at work. Even though this was only a short video clip, I still enjoyed watching you at work. By the way, your new external microphone 🎤 was clear with no sound distortion. Good job!
Hi Ron, I have watched everyone of your videos, some more than once. The audio on this video is much better. Really enjoy your professional approach to the job and your unending dedication to safety. This world could use a lot more Ron Pratts. Keep up the good work and God Bless
I saw you using your battery powered impact in a video a while back and decided "great idea". My son and I aren't pros but we are the go to guys when friends or family need assistance or vehicle repairs. I bought one and we've used it a lot. At the garage we still have an air impact and use it, especially for bigger jobs, but for quick, small jobs, and on the side of the road, this is fantastic. Thanks for making life easier for us. Be careful and stay safe.
Your so right Ron if your tow vehicle or trailer is not hooked up right and something happens your liable love your TIPS Ron please publish a video sharing your safety tips please would really like to see that!!
Ron Pratt lol Ron I understand take care bro MY GOD BLESS AND PROTECT YOU stay safe out there brother never turn your back to on-coming traffic safety is #1 like you said. I remember my grandfather always said "if you do it right the first time, you won't have to come back and do it again". Love ya Ron KEEP ON TOWING brother. Love the new mic too.
Even though I'm seeing this video for the first time, several months afterward, the audio is MUCH better. There were several videos that I just watched, made before this one, where I could hear a muffled thump sound as you were walking. So YES, much better audio, thank you and you be safe too. The old adage, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
As a retired truck driver from Smith's Transfer Corp., I only had one toime that needed a tow truck. It was something like your Nash Road incident. I had a Mack F-700 sleeper with a 45' trailer with 47,000 lbs in n it a day after a big snow storm in Rhode Island. It wasn't fun.
Safety #1 priority, thank you for being safe, even if over kill on chains and hook up, it's better the loosing a life. I push safety no matter what's being done or type of work. Again thank you ron
I am thinking what an incredibly wide range of skills you must have to do your job. Not only driving the wrecker but also all the intricacies of how trucks of many models work.
Yes, a good operator is very difficult to find. The combination of skills, professionalism, and common sense that are required for this job are rare in individuals, today. Thanks and God bless.
I am so glad you got a new microphone, it sounds great! As to the job I am just down the road from your shop. I am a little surprised that you didn’t bring a mechanic with you to try and get the tractor started unless you know more than you were saying. It might’ve been a simple fix. It could’ve saved you a lot of trouble hooking up airlines and then disconnecting them after you got rid of your load. Was going to have to be fixed eventually anyway. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Of course I realize that sometimes your mechanics are busy doing other things in the shop and that it will cost you money to have a mechanic come with you. You certainly know what you’re doing!
I think the new mic is a big improvement. I didn't have trouble hearing you in the past, but when you were talking to the troopers, or on the monument move, it was very hard to make out what those people were saying even when they were standing fairly close to you . I'm not sure where the man at the dock about the 5 minute mark was standing, but I could hear his end of the conversation very well. Thanks for making the investment in the mic to enhance our listening pleasure. As always, thanks for taking the time to share your recoveries and tows with us.
Hey Ron - I like the mic! Great sound to go with the great video. Here’s an “Atta Boy” from an old school cradle snatcher driver with a CSAA Auto Club contract tow station in Northern Cali, many years ago. One of the best jobs I ever had. Always something different, amazing and amazingly stupid all in the same day! I sure enjoy not having to listen to bleeped-out words every sentence - how refreshing, thank you for that. I subbed just on that alone! Stay safe, watch your six o’clock, keep on rolling. SPGhost, Central Cali
The microphone was excellent Ron. It was money well spent. I was surprised when you pulled the tractor out from under the trailer before you fitted the chains over the underlift. I thought you were not going to bother if you were only going a few feet to make room for a replacement tractor, but of course you did do it correctly.
Love the new mic its soo much better Ron. safety is number 1 i dont care what people say you did an awesome job as all ways. keep up the awesome work buddy and your little helper talen is awesome too.
The Mic is perfect can hear you better now and yes I am a new comer to your shows and I like them very well Ron keep up the good work k can't wait for more
This is an older video. I am currently using a newer camera with even better sound quality. If you are looking for more videos to watch, go to my RUclips Home page and I have over 200 videos that you can watch. If you are watching one of my videos you can click the "subscribe" button which will help you navigate to my home page, then click the bell icon, which will give you notifications when I upload new videos. Hope you enjoy them. Thanks and God bless.
Hi Ron, I've watched other tow companies in action on utube and you are a mile ahead of them. You keep everything in your rig organized, when you use something you put it away, the other guys just dump it back in the trk all messed up, they have to dig around looking for something, You& your other guys are real professionals keep up the good work. ( 1.5.18 ). Happy New year, stay safe will be watching for new videos this yr.
Ron, the sound is great. Nice clean, top of the line modern equipment you have there. And as a heavy haul driver in so Cal, I'm all about safety also. Be safe, and enjoy!
I like watching your videos mr. Pratt it's very very interesting and I agree with you totally is a very dangerous job so I'm very happy that you're about the safest guy that I've ever seen and please keep putting good videos out
Audio sounded great. Definitely a difference from videos before this one. Always practice safety and do it right. I never understood those who would skip steps and would wind up in some sort of trouble.
It's sounds a lot better. But like u said rather be safe then sorry. Do all ur safety stuff first before pulling away. Naver know what could happen. I'm 100% with u on that .
thank you for investing in the external mic made a big difference that has been the only thing that I could say about your videos is that the volume was never consistent. however this time it was a 100% perfect and as far as the video goes I love it I love all the things that you do it's always an education not to mention I love the sound of the diesel truck running all the time LOL thank you.
Thank you for continuing to watch and for the feedback. Sometimes I speak louder than others depending on what I am doing. I'm glad the quality is improving though. God bless.
No you've always did a good job Ron it's just better I'm a little bit hard of hearing so when I turn the TV up to one volume and it changes sometimes I can hear a sentence to and it's annoying LOL today's video was perfect had no problems at all. I don't want to miss a thing and that includes the truck running LOL
To me there is just something about a diesel engine running even at idle, each is different and they're like music to my ears. Keep up the good work thanks again.
RON, the MICROPHONE is super sounding much better then before. thank you now I can hear very good. to enjoy your videos much better . GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER.
Wow! Ron, the audio sounds 200% better with this microphone. The last several videos the audio was very low and I had a very hard time hearing you especially if there was other things going on around me in the room but this sounds fantastic... very clear and much more volume. I say you have a winner with this microphone. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there buddy!
Excellent volume, I was wondering why some of your earlier videos were lower on volume. Ever the vigilant in safety and you, probably won't have to say "If only I had done this or that". Never stop training the up and comers to the towing industry. Express safety and the need for it often. Avid viewers from South Georgia.. Mark & Tania
Even though this is a old video of me watching it like you said Safety First I admire your words and lot of these Towing guys don't do that keep up the good videos it's amazing the stuff you do I love your rotator it's amazing machine 2 all right God bless you too
Even though the tow is only a block away it's always a good habit to get into do it right every time. Overconfidence can get people hurt or killed. Overkill's always a good habit, keeps you safe.
Hi Mr.Ron Pratt just wanted to say i was watching your video on teting te external mic and it is better than a couple of other videos that i had watched and may i say i have watched many other towing companies and i think yours is the best and the most informative that i hae seen adnd also the cleanest to not only your equipement but the language as well and for give my spelling but i don't always spell very good and it am also tyou don't takeany more time than o=you need to so i will keep on watching and my God bles you and your faily
Thank you so much for such kind comments. I am glad you enjoy the newer mic and watching the videos. I will always work to keep the channel family friendly. God bless.
Sounds great, I'm just setting up with a small 14/16ton wrecker after almost 10 years in a roll back. Followed you for a few years and learnt a lot from your videos Ron. Can you please do a instructional video on how to lift using different forks and how to secure with chains and any potential problems to look out for. Many thanks
Great job I like the way you did that that was pretty cool and it sounds great to me I never had any sound problems with your videos keep doing what you’re doing God bless be safe
You don't miss a move. Make every move count. Total pro. I did heavy lift app ton and better always preached to my riggers no chances, do it right. Mic works great.
I still have trouble on some videos with a specific brand of microphone. I have now switched brands, and so far the new brand is working great. I think there has only been new video with the new brand of mic. This video was taken a while back and I had just replaced the existing mic with the same brand of mic and before long it was malfunctioning as well. Thank you and God bless.
Ron, truly, I don't believe you're doing "overkill". It's what the law and the safety rules require. We never plan for someone to rear-end us in traffic, but it still happens. You are operating a large towing rig, and you have a duty to yourself and your company to comply. If you don't comply with the requirements, your employees will think it's perfectly okay for them to take shortcuts, too. You teach by example, and you recognize that your employees and your children will follow the standards you set.
Mic is great. Could you redo the "truck walk around" lacking a better description. Love these videos, I wish my Dad was still living, I know he would love these too.
Not a truck driver but I learned something about air brakes. The sound was just great, loud and clear. Does this remote mike have a noise canceling feature to mute background noise? The real test will be on a windy day.
The mic has foam wind screens on it. They help, but aren't perfect. If you keep watching my videos you will here it in some of them. Thanks and God bless.

Hopefully you won't ever need me, but thank you for the compliment. God bless.
I do woodworking and believe in not taking short cuts, not even once, that can get you hurt, and it only takes once...good job sir
Thank you! I would love to learn woodworking, it seems to be a dying craft as well. God bless.

You are doing your job right. David Nielson from Iowa
mic is a lot better than the old one , doesn't cut in and out. your tow jobs are great. I wonder if that guy at the casino still has a job
Thank you and God bless.
awesome mic I can hear without using headphones, Thanks.
Jeff Harjes Sr. You're welcome
Safety is always important. Hear you great, good mic.
Thanks for sharing your experience , how important safety issue, for everyone you and traveling. People
Great microphone! Didn't think to turn my volume down :)
You have your routines just as everyone else does in your job safety is first new sub great videos I've seen so far
The Exeternal Mic sounded great learned something from the tow also just cage the breaks and remove the drive shaft
Sound much better, good job.
I know that I am late to the party but the mic sounds good. Of course now I'm still waiting for you to put a cage around the brake chambers. lol
