I’ve noticed I can ask for directions in a specific app, not just Apple Maps. Not sure if it’s new to 18.1 but I stumbled upon asking for directions to a location on Waze and it did it.
No you can’t use the Apple Watch for CarPlay however if you have music running you can play and pause from your watch and if directions are running you can have it show on your watch in addition to the CarPlay.
Go into “Apple Intelligence & Siri” settings on your iPhone then click on “Messaging With Siri” and there should be a toggle for automatically sending messages and in CarPlay.
It’s just like the old CarPlay, honestly. Nothing major. Have you noticed that you can no longer invoke Siri (on CarPlay) by just saying “siri” instead of “hey siri”? Happened to me since upgrading.
@@alirezasalmannot mic…works with Hey Siri only after BMW updated the software on their car. Should work exclusively with CarPlay, but does not. Thanks for trying.

Yes great feature! And I believe this has existed for some time.
It used to read the message on CarPlay and ask “would you like to reply?” Now I have to hit Siri to send each message. Is that feature gone for good?
I still have this feature available, maybe check your settings to ensure it’s not disabled?

Yeah you have to go to settings and turn on the toggle for reading messages before sending. It’s odd they turned that off by default now

Yeah I agree. Also now you have me questioning it and I'm going to try saying siri next time I get in the car....
So I actually tried this yesterday and I was still able to use “Siri” to activate it so may be an issue with your cars mic?
