@@AgathaLOutahere lol wow, colonial much?. Don't come around here acting like gods or godesses telling us what to do. That's what you foreigners do, you always think of us as an inferior being specially if your coming to a third-world country like ours. And your lucky my countrymen let you do that to them. Always, remember its not your land its ours. So you need to adjust to our culture not the other way around

@@AgathaLOutahereHave you been in the Philippines long enough to learn and study its history? If not, then let me school you about its history and how it was once an advanced country next to Japan...First of all it had the fiercest and toughest warriors, Katipunans, and guerillas who killed the Spanish, Japanese, and even Americans. Then it had the toughest Army in Asia, which was the Philippine Scouts, who fought in WWI & WWII and was a military organization formed by the U.S. Army under the USAFFE (U.S. Army Forces Far East) Command in 1901 until the end of WWII in 1945 and was officially disbanded in 1949. Their training was impeccable and so intense which was a combination of the U.S.'s Navy Seal, Green Beret, Rangers, and Special Forces. I know this because my paternal grandpa was a Philippine Scout who served in WWI & WWII and his first son, my uncle, who served in WWII, and Korean & Vietnam Wars. (I and my cousins followed the footsteps of our grandpas, my dad, and other uncles in joining the Philippine or U.S. military. I'm the second female and officer to join the military from my paternal family.) After WWII, Philippines became one of the most advanced and progressive Asian countries next to Japan in economy and technology. It had the first advanced commercial airline which is the Philippine Airlines among the Asian countries. In fact, it was the first Asian country to run and have a commercial airline. It used to be the biggest exporter of rice. The Philippines taught other Asian countries agriculture, especially planting and exporting rice in their countries. It had inventors of famous technologies, from robotics to karaoke to space vehicles, etc. Unfortunately, it had bad and/or greedy politicians who let other foreign countries exploit its wealth, land, and natural resources, and pocketed lots of money instead of giving them to the country and Filipino people to improve their land and ways and means of living. That's also why the Philippines became the most English-speaking Asian country because English is its second language next to the first language which is Filipino. Spanish used to be the second language at one point due to its approximately 300 years of ruling the Philippines. I also have Spanish bloodline from both of my parents. My paternal grandpa, the Philippine Scouts, and his 4 siblings were pure Spaniards but were either raised or born in the Philippines. Their parents came from Madrid, Spain. My grandma, my grandpa's wife, was half-Spaniard and half-Filipino (from Malayan ancestry). My maternal grandparents were from Spanish, Chinese, and Malayan ancestries. The Philippines even helped Koreans and Vietnamese during and even after their wars to get them out of poverty and on their feet by training them to become skilled workers and taught them English. If you know why the Vietnamese produced the most beauty parlors, especially in the U.S., it was because they were trained by the Filipinos while the Vietnamese sought asylum and migrated to the Philippines with the help of U.S. The Philippines became the exporters of healthcare providers, especially nurses, because the U.S. military medics trained them in the health field during WWII, especially when American nurses and doctors became scarce from either being captured or killed by the Japanese. Many Filipinos volunteered to learn to be healthcare providers in WWII and helped the U.S. take care of the wounded. Anyway, all Asian countries, except Japan, followed the Philippines' lead and footsteps by getting off their feet and becoming more advance and progressive, even more than the Philippines.

In comparison, a Filipino pilot for PAL brings home around $2500 USD per month.

For those Russian couple travelling in the Philippines for that long and not trying Filipino food is just insane to me. That’s one of the best parts about travelling; sampling local cuisines and traditions. Food is such a huge part of every culture. So to not try it because of what you heard from other people is just quite a silly and naive perspective. It’s like going to Russia for a year and never eating Russian food because some people say it sucks. That’s a terrible mentality and not an explorer’s or adventurer’s mindset at all. Go try it and find out for yourself and make your own conclusions!

You should have visited Camiguin as well. They are the 3 popular small islands to visit. There are actually more things to see in Camiguin than in Siquijor and Siargao. Though Siargao has the most diverse food option among the 3. Siquijor is the most pristine among the 3.

And, if you already know how much is the fare for all these public transportation, do not even ask the driver anymore how much you have to pay. Or else you are just opening a chance of getting scammed or big argument. Just pay the fare straight up without asking how much. Have some small bills/coins always ready and handy.

yup your right Siargao is the best island to relax, it's an island paradise, nothing beats Siargao especially when it comes to island hopping, it's more fun in Siargao😊

    Why the Philippines ?
    'FREEDOM'
That's exactly right, they HAVE more freedom in the Philippines than in most of the advanced countries in the world.
HE SAID IT RIGHT --- FILIPINOS SHOULD BE PROUD OF "FREEDOM"

The U.S. has a great influence on the Philippines and the Filipinos, and American English is the preferred form of English used in the Philippines. unlike Malaysia and Singapore where British English is preferred.
