Scams are getting way better got an email that looks identical to the real one i would have received if I logged in to Microsoft with a link, it was so identical to the real email I almost fell for it, best practice when receiving an email from a company is to not click any links from an email or even open it but go directly to website in my case Microsoft from a browser and login and check that way literally only thing they missed in email is the stars covering my email they nailed everything else “****”

Ms. Rinoa, thank you, not just for destroying these clowns, but also for the humor you deliver when doing so. In a way I'm kind of fortunate being totally deaf, there is a time pause while my computer puts speech into text and my verbal response sounds different from normal speech if I talk over the phone which further frustrates them. I actually like taking these thieves for a walk, thankfully they just get so frustrated with me they just hang up. Your government and police allow this. When they “raid” these scam call centers, the perpetrators are often released within hours. They are highly encouraged to go after westerners, as Indians have a deep hatred for them, despite often going to Western countries for economic opportunities.

The scammers put this notification so people can not see what they are doing. A terrible invasion of privacy and an extreme crime against the vulnerable and the “Non-tech-savvy”.

Basically the same thing happened to me. When they took over my computer with the "Updating Now" blue screen I knew something was up. I hung up on them and restarted my computer only to find that the computer had been locked out and I couldn't get back in. I immediately went on my other computer changed all my passwords for my accounts. I couldn't get back into my computer and I wound up reinstalling my operating system from scratch. It did wind up costing me $150 for HP support but money well spent. I am really good at backing things up on encrypted drives so I was able to recover 90% of what was on my hard drive.
