Hi Robert. You created some wonderful soundscapes to go with the drone footage. The first ten minutes reminded me of the original series of David Lynch's "Twin Peaks."
The testing videos are fair enough, but the point of a drone is to get out and fly so you can see things you can’t see from the ground. And use the drone to get footage like this :)
There is an older video where I show my editing process ( or at least how I edited a year ago). I still use the same procedure, but use more keyboard shortcuts now : ruclips.net/video/6Qp0K-NVYXQ/видео.html
Just a wee flight with some strange things happening..But there are plenty of stone circles and other things like tat around here. I might have a wee flight around some of those - depending on whether THIS video is popular or not :)
I'm ready! Lay it on me Roberto! It looks like you found ... da da da duuuuummmm. The Scottish Triangle. Thankfully Lassie didn't lose connection and end up in Oz! I love the narrative, and the effect. Look, there's a signpost up ahead. Next stop: The Twilight Drone! PS I wish I could fly my Mavic 3 up that way. Not for the 5.1k resolution, though it's good, but for the 28x Digital Zoom on the telephoto camera. It's not really sharp, but it's amazing how close it can get in to things. Crazy close in fact.
Aye, I could have been doing with a better zoom. I was filming in 4k, but the zoom is only X2. I stopped for a second to switch it over to 1080p for the 4X zoom :)
@@WindsweptRobert I can sort of understand a signal loss, RTH from being down low where signal can be weaker, but I've never seen an RTH cancel itself before. Very odd stuff going on out there. Be careful!
That was a really fascinating video Robert, accompanied by the perfect soundtrack. I'm going to have a look at that a few times. One thing I found a bit out of place was that single tree you stopped over. I wondered if it was a covert comms antenna. Then a little later on, when the signal was lost, I think you were not very far from it. Looks like some sort of landfill site but the police CCTV seems to indicate there is more to it than meets the eye. Where is this on Google Earth? Thanks for posting.
Aye, that lone tree was pretty peculiar, along with a lot of other things, Peter. The coordinates for the white boulders in the shape of an X are: 55.487059, -4.223076
Robert. @ 3.00 it bore all the resemblance of a Mexican/Spanish B movie soundtrack with baron landscape. Dark apocalyptic with a delicate Scottish influence..🤣🎵 I watched the lot...😊👏👏☘
Thanks, Tony. Not my usual choice for music, but I think this fitted. I made a similar type video with my wife last Summer (not the same subject matter, and more of story-telling video with some cool drone footage) that you may not have seen yet. Actually, I made 3! ruclips.net/video/CdRTHnm3M_s/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/XAUyBiT5Oek/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/enrP3JiF4Zk/видео.html
That was creepy as! 16m 45 felt like a sci-fi horror film starting. That is definitely a strange location. Wonder what it is they're burying? Infact, this type of thing would make a great film... Drone flyer films something he shouldn't and then gets strange men in black SUV's following him.... Great video Rob!
Appears to be a large scale restoration of a peat bog. The stone “cross” is likely a reference point for aerial (airplane) photography and mapping (often painted on intersections in urban areas). The security cameras are placed at entrances and where equipment might be stored.
Okay got to have a comment on this one..... Checked pattern... hay bales that have been removed. At first thought might be old bitumen but then they are sorting black and grey/white materials so peat and lime ? Might be interesting to see if the police monitoring units are still there. Seems a lot of expense to prevent the theft of a car/bulldozer. Clearly the units also blocked satellite imagery or provided a set of co-ordinates not to show that area. RTH self cancelling ?????. Good find Robert.
Interesting about the hay bales - that would fit the pattern perfectly :). I can't get back out there to check if the cameras are still there, but when my car returns from the car doctor, i'll head out to check :)
... may I suggest trying the Google multisearch functions (in the Google Lens app) with an Image (like the rock cross) from your vid and perhaps include text of the rough coordinates of the area. The search results may be very interesting. ... btw ... I LOVE yer stuff! Lest I forget ... 💙💛 ☮
Thanks, Dim Wit. I don't quite understand the fist part about the google multisearch function with an image (sorry, explain it to me like the idiot I am LOL) Thanks for lovin' ma stuff! ;)
@@WindsweptRobert Google Lens (Android app) allows you to do searches via inputting images you want to search. For instance ... spot a flower you love but don't know anything about? Take a pic of it, submit it in Google Lens, and Voila! Google will provide search results for that flower. Famous building in Scotland (with unknown name?) ... same thing. Interestingly, Lens has very recently added the ability to search with both Image AND Text ... thus my suggestion to search with the rock-cross image AND the latitude and longitude of the area. The search results from that one search could answer many of the questions that you and others have raised. Google Lens is a POWERFUL yet simple tool. The recent addition of Text helps greatly to refine your search. Google/RUclips search it to get started. Many, MANY daily uses.
Look at the site on desktop Google Earth Pro. Use the timeline to look at previous aerial photos, especially in the area with the mounds of stone and peat (and the “cross”). I suspect you may find an old quarry that is being restored (mounds flattened), etc. in that area.
Well, I didn't see anything that you didn't mention. Looks like those lorries were bringing in cinders/ash & dumping it & the excavating equipment was moving it around & leveling it out. Are you sure that isn't a secret production site for Soylent Green ??? (ref. the sci-fi movie with Charleton Heston). Lots of tire tracks, but those could have been made by kids 'joy riding' in various vehicles, including ATV (all terrain vehicles .. don't know if you have them there or what they are called). Didn't seem to be anything to the rock "X" .. perhaps someone seeking attention like those 2 bawbags who admitted to making all the crop circles some years ago. Lassie went into RTH when you got pretty low to the ground, so it could have just been poor signal. In a recent video I made with my old DJI Phantom 3 Advanced, it did something similar when I got out about 1 mile away at about 75 ft. altitude (as soon as it ascended to 200 ft, I got full signals again). It's fun to explore things like that with your UAV. Enjoyed the trip & the scenery. Cheers!
I’ve seen these mobile alarm things before, I think they are remote alarm systems to deter thieves, there is a mineshaft pumping station not far from me which is remotely controlled and in the middle of nowhere, it has one of these at each corner of the compound and they belt out a warning alarm and voice saying intruder alert police have been alerted or something like that, they are cameras too, site armadillos they are called I think
Aye, and it could be that I'll get a visit from future time travellers who inject me with a mind numbing serum. My mind is numb enough as it is, thank you very much! ;)
This is just a bog standard site that looks like it is being used to dump ash or waste materials from construction then levelling them out. If it was anything secretive it would be fenced off, covered in cameras and security patrols. The cameras are probably due to issues with thefts or trespass. Probably kids on quad bikes. The triangle is simply a processing glitch in the aerial photo data. It has no significance. If this area was meant to be kept secret they would simply copy and paste something from another area nearby and not leave an obvious triangle.
Haha good video interesting..bit looks like a normal dumping ground for crap..few cameras up for fly tiping..maybe council owned for semi dangererous materials..etc as has been said..if it was anything sensitive security would be high..police or military at the gate, drone flight ,photography detection systems would maybe be deployed etc..the fact you parked up..took off and flew over it means they probably arent storing the ark if the covenant there..or alien artifacts...wich is a shame 🤣🤣🤟
I wonder if it was an area used by the RAf or Royal Artillery back in the day, and now its just farmland / quarry. But it is still an MOD site, which is why there are cameras. As a guess.
