HELLO, GIRLS, GALS, AND NONBINARY PALS! HELP!
okay, so recently i had orientation for high school and i got a friend!!! he’s nonbinary, and they use he/they. i rlly want some advice with getting their pronouns correctly (i’m only getting them right bc im writing it out lol) and how i can help them if they’re having a bad dysphoria day. any advice is welcome!!!
1. I love that you have this mindset, it's nice of you :)
2. It sounds weird, but genuinely think before you speak. Ex. If you're about to say "I don't know what (unused pronoun) wants" stop yourself in your mind and think "they" or "he" before you actually speak.
3. Ask them what kind of compliments they prefer, and on bad dysphoria days, make sure to subtly compliment things about him that he'll appreciate. Ex. "Hey, you look rly handsome today, your hair looks nice like that." :)
4. If at first this seems tough, that's probably because it is, but over time, it'll get easier and easier.
5. Have a nice day!! :)
And also I would say that nb people who use different pronouns tend to like when you stick to one in the same sentence or discussion. For example, "He's nonbinary and they use they them" kinda feels weird using two different ones so close. You'd say "they're nb an they use..." We can see when people do that that they are very well intended but sometimes it feels forced. Also, I think it's easier for people to gender you in one way in one conversation. But rule number ONE is : ask them. For anything, just ask :)

you can definitely still identify as non binary! non binary is anything that is not strictly man or woman, so identities like that fall under the non binary umbrella :) whatever makes you comfortable
Non binary is literally anyone who isn't male OR female so yes if you aren't fully male or fully female your non binary
Hey! I've been asking myself kind of the same question. Most of the time, I feel no gender at all, but occassionally I feel feminine or masculine. I discovered the term agenderflux, which means being agender part of the time but experiencing gender other times. Hope this helps!
You could be bigender, or genderfluid. Depend if you feel the genders all together or in different periods. But remember, only you can say what you feel and what you are.
