I was expecting you to take one of the center cutouts and put a thin card stock rim around it, and then use this as a mold to align all of the layers. The card stock would just need to be the same thickness as the kerf of the laser you used to cut them out originally. I have no idea how big a laser kerf is, but if its say a millimeter, you could probably even get some countertop lamenate or plastic to use as the walls. Wood glue most likely wouldn't stick to it and make it much easier to take off after. As usual, always a dozen viable options for doing something, whatever works... works. Great video.
Oh that's a real shame about the edges, that would have looked great. Would some veneer be worth a shot, with the grain running from top to back? ...and the clocks are taking use what you've got to the extreme!
Love love love these.

That would work in theory. The laser kerf is around 0.1mm though!
That’s awesome!!
Thanks Ray 👍
I was thinking painter’s tape around the outside to keep all the sections aligned.
At the moment it’s purely down to the tiny gaps. The wood is just burning through!
For the Flexi sides could you glue the over sized bits to the sides then trim down before adding the wider front and back bits ?
You Sir, have read my mind! 👍

I’m trying a few things for the edge, but a veneer might be a way to go
