This was honestly one of the better romcoms I have seen. Very sweet and funny and believable. Their chemistry was unparalleled

Taylor and Nick were great in this! Their chemistry and some of the more R rated dialogue/jokes elevated this from a standard rom com into a really good one. Solid story with a really good cast.

@@Christianyts21 So basically in the book they met up for the first time on the Brazil Olympics where Alex tried to talk to Henry and he wispered to Shaan “can you get rid of him?” This is not the actual reason Alex hates Henry. Its the fact that they are always compared with each other and as a biracial brown man from an immigrant family he will always have to work twice as hard to get the same amount of respect Henry does for simply existing.
He hates the comparisons because he thinks they are nothing alike, he thinks Henry is a privileged little prince who grew up with everything he could ever want, respect and a country that loves him simply for being a pretty face. Alex however is a guy who has worked his entire life to be recognized and taken seriously, who endured through a low middle class childhood, the divorce of his parents, the constant racist and anti immigrant spirit of Texas and the further alienation of his mom as she became a politician and everything turned into work and PR.
Here’s a quote from the book:

Henry pauses again. “I’m sensing an ellipsis.”

@simranspacesout I would really recommend reading the book, it is so much more political then the movie, its literally besides just a rom com a political drama, and Amazon directly said they would need to cut all that out to make the movie. Its another instance of white straight people sanitizing minorities and ignoring the parts that makes us complex. The book readers wanted a complex movie that brought to light all of the horrible laws being brought to Texas and raise queer spirits, instead we got an unsubstantial rom com. They literally cut out half the plot, you can read the book right now and be surprised by the twists cuse the movie doesn't even spoil it, that's just how much was cut out.
I've watched this video about 100 times and the edits still get me 😂
