I was a die hard DMX fan. I loved his tone, his cadence and his lyrics. I was never a Jay Z fan. He was one of the few artisits with a true authentic deep rough rider voice even live. His passion was so palpable.

Abandonment issues maybe made him feel like he didn’t deserve it. If my own mom and dad don’t want me why I deserve all this love & gifts from God & fans? Im sure the abandonment made him question himself. This movie was my intro, to DMX. I was 7 years old when this movie was released (2002). Over the last 19 years, being 26 years old now, I’ve made it intentional to listen to DMX’s music. I'm here after learning of DMX's untimely passing. This legendary rapper was born the same year as me, 1970. DMX seemed to be a troubled and conflicted man. May he now finally REST IN PEACE.
We almost lost him. So happy he's here to tell HIS story. So happy he's surviving. Praying his recovery extends until forever.

I don't think Tashera gets enough credit for taking him in when he was essentially just a homeless drug addict that no one wanted to take in. Imagine if she never opened her home after he was jumped: he probably wouldn't have lived to be as successful as he once was. And the sad part is, he had all those babies on her. I wonder if he regrets how he did her.
