Your packing videos are so detailed and I love that you show us the clothes that you're taking actually on you; I find that so helpful! Actually psyched how much you managed to fit in your backpack, makes me want to do carry on only next time!
OMG I remember your packing video from last year, and it seems like you are only bringing half of what you did back then!! I laughed when you were shocked by the small amount of bikinis you are bringing, because oh my gosh you have become a real minimalist since last time!!! Amazing video. I can't wait to see that you get up to in South America 😍😍
Oh my god, all these pieces are actually cute... For some reason, I thought I couldn't look cute while I travel so I've looked like an off-brand Bear Grylls on many an occasion
SAME! I was like, "wow, she's actually going to look cute on her trip!" I guess I always think of toning everything down when I'm out of the country to "blend in" and avoid standing out for safety reasons. But, depending on the country, I usually end up looking out of place anyway because the locals enjoy dressing up!
I love watching what’s in my bag, I’m also a carry on only just because of not liking the idea of my luggage getting lost or not making it to its destination when I arrive.
Larger airlines often have a 10kg limit on long haul flights. However, I would guess that her bag was still over that limit. Luckily, not all airlines weigh hand luggage.
hi! i know you’ve probably already put at lot of thought into all you’re packing for south america, but from my experience in ecuador, in the andes like quito baños and quenca, it is actually pretty cold there all year around, just cold enough that i regretted bringing so many shorts on the trip because i ended up preferring longer pants due to the slight chill. since you’ve already left, i recommend maybe while you’re on the trip to buy one of those really colorful canvas pants that indigenous communities sell in the andes in ecuador and they are flown kind of joggers that pack up really small but also are a fun statement and keep warmed than short
I’m leaving for my first solo backpacking trip to Australia in a couple of weeks and have been bingewatching all of your video’s!! So so helpful and actually making me feel more prepared, thank you so much!!
It’s time! Just bought the backpack in black for a trip to Spain next week. Of course away from people but with my boyfriend.. super exited! Stay healthy and safe everybody 🏄🏼♀️
I've been waiting for this video! I'm bringing a 40l Osprey bag for 2-3 months through Europe, so I was super excited to see what you packed! I also just purchased a cup for this trip as well!
Just a quick tip! If you put a little bit of parchment paper (baking paper) in the bottom of your shampoo and conditioner tins you can air dry the bars in the tins and they wont stick! plus it saves on space and time! You can use the same piece of paper for weeks! Safe travels!!!!!
Absolutely love your work! You set such a great example of how to solo travel. Discovered your channel recently and so inspired by everything you've achieved!
I have an osprey 40l farview backpack and I always travel with it. I love being a minimalist when it comes to travelling. It makes me feel free as a bird.
When I traveled to Ecuador last year in January I froze myself! Then in the Galapagos is to hot and the sun is strong. One of the best trip there I made ♥️ Love Ecuador. Good trip! regards from Uruguay 🇺🇾
I’ve been waiting for this video!! I’m a new subscriber and have been binge-watching all of your old videos. Super excited to be watching your uploads in real time! Safe travels! ❤️
I love all your backpack videos ! So useful ! I've watched all of them at the beginning of 2019 to pack for my 3 month travel to Australia and Bali ! Have a nice trip to South America 🤩☀️💕
That's one helluva backpack! Nice water bottle too. Really wanted to see you use that space saving bag on the coat. Vacuum or squeeze out the air? Nice echo effect too for the empty spaces! can't wait to see how the trip goes...
Ohhh, man. This brings back memories of backpacking around Asia for six months. I had an Osprey Farpoint 40L, and a travel purse. It can be done! :D It is tough figuring out what is absolutely necessary, and what you can get away without bringing. Have fun! It really is totally worth not having to check luggage.
@@caryssian6201 Uhhh, yes and no. It was initially difficult to figure out what is absolutely necessary and how to pack stuff. But it was easy to get into a routine for how to pack it when we were in Asia. But I would definitely recommend just doing carry on if at all possible, it made international travel/flight days SO much less stressful than if we had to check bags.
So happy you're coming to my country, Colombia🇨🇴... I'd love to meet up with you if you're available while in Cali... Sending you lots of lucks and positive vibes 😊
I adore your videos. I'm preparing to fly out tomorrow and slightly freaking out a little as I started to choose what I want to bring. I was considering the 54321 method but it felt too restricted. Then I popped over to your video and I was like omg I feel so much better I can do this!!! Your videos really help because I don't have a lot of friends to discuss this with so you're my spirit angel. Thank you 💖
Wow! Very organised and those packing cubes look a great idea to minimise space, and keep things compartmentalised. I have a 30-35l rucksack I use when I visit friends and I fill it up just for a weekend! Have a fantastic time in Colombia and Ecuador.
My mum sent me this video for our travels in Feb and I think you are bloody amazing! How have I not found your vlogs before! Hitting subscribe and can’t wait to follow your travels ✈️
Got admit loved this. Reminds me of our daughter at 20 leaving home for Chile Peru. Fast forward now owns mojo divers in koh tao. Please take care. Enjoy😊
What a great video. I am planning a 6 week trip to Taiwan and I can't believe everything you got in that 40L backpack. I like the way you wear the bum bag too and am now considering that. I found your video while searching for reviews on the backpack but will now have a look at your home page to see what other great advice you share. Again, thank you!
I like to travel as light as possible, so it is really great to see how you pack you luggage for a 4 months trip, it is very inspiring, thanks for sharing!!!
I’m watching this again for the fifth time... because my own backpack just arrived! I’m so happy thank you for inspiring me to get this bag and to travel I can’t wait to get out there🙏🏻🌏
Hi Thank you very much for all the videos and all the useful information About the bar soup and conditioner To remove the wet from the bar or from your toiletry bag put some silica gel bags it will Absorbs all the wet usually i find silica gel when i buy any thing new i don't Throw it away i store them in a container and i use it when i need it Silica gel you can use it many time just heat it in dry environment and it will work again
I’m probably gonna get this backpack for my 18th birthday next month🤩🤩 I’ve been waiting for this moment for the past year since you made this video and I’m hoping to go on my first backpacking trip soon💜✨
Girl thank you so much, I got so many amazing travel packing tips from this video. And THANK YOU for suggesting those shoes as a good travel shoe. I have been looking for some good footwear and haven't found anything I want to buy until now. Def going to buy those shoes.
Such a helpful video! I'm leaving on a 7 month backpacking trip next month and planning on travelling carry-on only as well. Hope you have an amazing time in South America Christianne!
Once you figure out the menstrual cup, life will seriously be so much easier! I finally made the switch after I put myself in a panic getting my period in the middle of the Amazon with too few supplies with me 🙄 seriously the best switch!!
Excited to see what you're releasing in the new year as I haven't bought any suitable travel bottoms for my trip yet, in the UK I live in jeans! This is really useful as there are a lot of items I would have forgotten about, thank you! ☀️
I love this!! I am anything but a minimalist when it comes to packing so this is v inspiring and really makes me want to try travelling light too. Out of interest though, were you able to get your razor and spare blade through security?
Considering carry on travel, how much does it all weigh. I've recently done carry on only to Europe for 5 weeks, at just under 7Kg, wearing my rain jacket on the plane. I checked my bag on my way home to account for any shopping. It's quite hard to keep the weight down, had 2 travel trousers, 1 nylon shorts, 1 sleep tee, 3 merino teeshirts, 1 merino long sleeve top, 1 merino jersey. Enough clothes to last 5 week, but each item was very planned.
This has been crazy informative for my upcoming backpacking trip! Super keen to see how the bottle goes as I hate the amount of plastic ones you go through especially in hot countries :)
It isn't easy! When my husband and I backpacked around Asia for six months, I had an Osprey Farpoint 40L, and a travel purse. It was tough figuring out what was absolutely necessary, and what could be left behind!
This is insane!! I have a 45L backpack with me and i have half the stuff you're bringing, and that barely fits in my backpack! I seriously need to go through all my stuff again haha. Love these videos
Going away for 9 months or longer and I just bought a huge backpack hahah.... but I’m staying at a surfcamp for a few months each time so I don’t have to wear it for long just going from a to b... and I have to bring my own wetsuits and surfshoes.. but love your packing list for clothes!! Definitely going to pack similar!! Can’t wait! 🌊 have a safe trip
Loved this! I've got the osprey 55liter but the main bag is only 42litres and I've packed that for 1 year. The removable bag is pretty much going to be used for snacks 😂
I used this same bag for my trip to Guatemala earlier this year. It was awesome, with one exception. I had to check it on the way home on a budget airline. (My fault). Even though it’s small, it can still be packed to be overweight for a carry on.
Thanks for sharing. This is helping me in preparing for my long term travel in SA this year. I got the Meridian Osprey 75L with wheels and attached smaller backpack. Hoping it holds up!
I love watching your videos! That's a great backpack (both of them haha!). And that jumpsuit was just lovely. Thanks for the inspiration and enjoy your trip!
Oo i need to reduce my luggage load! I just did the Philippines for a month (thanks for all your amazing tips btw- i loved Camiguin!!). If you were going to Peru and Bolivia, more long sleeve stuff is needed- it was freezing!! Colombia and Ecuador you should be fine- even hiking in the lost city is boiling- but everything gets wet, so make sure to bring extra pairs of socks! If you go to the amazon- you can do it through Community hostel in Quito- amazing stay at a place with dolphins right outside. I did 5 days- and glad i did, because i didn't want to leave at 4 days. Have the best time! If you need anymore tips, feel free to message me :)
My favourite travel videos are packing ones and your packing ones are the best! So happy it's so long!!! Also weird they would take nail scissors at security but not blades?
I laughed when you said "hopefully I don't get the shits" hahaha It happened to me in Colombia on New Years Eve (in Cartegena!) 😭😂So definitely a plus to bring those tablets!! Have fun and I enjoyed this video a lot 😊
Heya, just looking for a backpack for a trip round south east Asia and was wondering if you looked into the osprey fairview and why you chose the eagle creek over it? Xx
The main reasons I chose this over the Fairview were because 1 - laptop pocket lies against back (as opposed to outside) 2 - rain cover pouch included 3 - seperate shoe compartment 4 - drink holders 5 - the 2 main compartments (as opposed to just the 1 on the Fairview) For me, the only thing that I preferred about the Fairview was how you can zip away the straps, however this benefit did not outweigh the other 5 where I think Eagle Creek wins! Hope this helps 😅😊
Thanks for making this video. I am planning my South America trip and this was so helpful. I am very short so I can't carry one of those giant backpacks most backpackers use.
Are there things you packed you ended up never using or wished you would have held off and gotten there when you needed them instead? Also, random question but would you recommend me taking a light weight travel hammock? I've been mulling over the idea but don't know if I'd really get the opportunity to use it much at the beach and such
Hey! Great video! One thing I'd be interested in hearing about is your experiences of being away at Christmas, both around making the decision not to be with family etc, and what Christmas is actually like while you're away? I've decided to go away for my birthday next year (being a major birthday I decided I wanted to do something epic) but would love to hear about Christmas :) Happy travels!!!
Will deffo share my Christmas experience in Colombia! Personally the decision to not spend Christmas as home is pretty easy for me 🤷🏻♀️ I love Xmas at home but it will always be there and I'm curious and excited to experience how other people do things
@@BackpackingBananas Thank you :) that's definitely a good way to look at it! I look forward to the video covering Christmas! Christmas 2020 outside of the UK is definitely on the cards now! Hope you have an amazing week learning Spanish!
In January, I'm heading to south east Asia and Australia, on my first ever solo trip! And I'm super stuck on what bag to bring for a day bag! Obviously here you've got just your bumbag and the fold away bag as you're going more minimalist. Would you recommend the fold away bag as a day to day bag? Or if not, do you have any recommendations/suggestions of bags to have for day to day? Not sure whether to go for a small proper travel one, lowe alpine/osprey etc. Or just a regular bag/backpack. Very excited to see more of your trip!
I'm backpacking Australia right now and I just love watching your videos. No reason for me to watch this as I'm already here, but it's just fun to watch😊
Menstrual cups!!! Yayayay! I also have a few cloth pads and panty liners that I take with me too. Also rip that Jetstar only allows 7 kilos for carry on 😭
I love how your packing items transformed into more sustainable and environmentally friendly ones
Always trying to improve 😊

Heya, just looking for a backpack for a trip round south east Asia and was wondering if you looked into the osprey fairview and why you chose the eagle creek over it? Xx
The main reasons I chose this over the Fairview were because
1 - laptop pocket lies against back (as opposed to outside)
2 - rain cover pouch included
3 - seperate shoe compartment
4 - drink holders
5 - the 2 main compartments (as opposed to just the 1 on the Fairview)
For me, the only thing that I preferred about the Fairview was how you can zip away the straps, however this benefit did not outweigh the other 5 where I think Eagle Creek wins!
Hope this helps 😅😊
Still love my Eagle Creek Companion to death. It's so comfortable and holds a lot of stuff. Highly recommend it 😊
Definitely encouraged me to travel lighter on my next trip! Thinking of a 40L. What was your experience with the filtering bottle?? X
honestly I want to get this bag now for my upcoming month in Australia and month in Madagascar
Omg Oz and Madagascar😍😍 that trip sounds incred!! Highly recommend this backpack 😊😊
Thanks for making this video. I am planning my South America trip and this was so helpful. I am very short so I can't carry one of those giant backpacks most backpackers use.
Loved this video!! I know you've left by now but id recommend a reusable cutlery set in case the only option is plastic!xxx
Forgot to mention, I got a spork in my bum bag🙈
Did you not end up liking the grayl water bottle? I haven’t seen it in any recent videos and I am thinking about buying one.
Oooh I'm so jealous of the shoe pocket on that bag.
No snorkel this time? Love your videos!!❤
Aw haha I wish I had space for it! I won't be doing quite as much water activity on this trip so couldn't quite justify space for it this time x
Wow that is a really nice backpack
Thank you 😊 I'm stoked with it!
Personally I'd just go with a regular backpack! You want something easy and comfy
@@BackpackingBananas ah fab okay, thank you so much!!
Ecuador can get pretty cold. I think you need more trousers.
I just got back from Colombia. You've GOT TO GO TO PALOMINO. The dreamer hostel is really fun.
my friend was in peru for a few months and needed the immodium acute tabletts so so so often
So unfortunate!
I'm backpacking Australia right now and I just love watching your videos. No reason for me to watch this as I'm already here, but it's just fun to watch😊
Aw thank you Rosalie, I hope you're having a wonderful time in Oz!
Menstrual cups!!! Yayayay! I also have a few cloth pads and panty liners that I take with me too. Also rip that Jetstar only allows 7 kilos for carry on 😭
