Suuuuuuperb recipe. Plz do not take off the video I always come back watch a video and next day house is smelling amazing 🤩. If you crave that sohan halwa we use to eat back home ….look no further give it a try. It’s time consuming but the quantity it yields is pretty generous. Usually halwas are a lot of work with a lot of shrinkage but not here.

Okay I just finished making this halwa. I would rate the recipe 10/10. My is smelling heavenly. Hubby would be so proud 🤩
Okay back to recipe at the beginning it looked like a big pool of oil and milk but as it evaporated it got better. I’ve seen so many complicated recipes with tons of ingredients and asking to add brown food colour but mine turned brown very perfectly. Only thing is it’s time consuming and would take you good two hours to make but the amount it yields is about 3cups full of halwa.
So it depends how badly you want to make it.
In the end thanks a lot for the person who uploaded it and also who’s recipe originally it is.
    Good bless you guys.

Picture of finished product squares is not the product that was made and put into cup cakes ?

    • @cookingtwistwithsr

It is and it was made at the same time. Putting it in the cupcake wrapper made it easier to give out to everyone

Love it! Who was the person you mentioned who made the original recipe? Where can I find more of her info on her other Indian sweet recipes?

This recipe is the most authentic. The brown colour comes from baking or cooking, not from food colouring or cocoa powder. I have used brown sugar instead of normal white sugar. Hopefully it turns out the same

Would the recipe turn out well if I used full fat dry milk ?
That’s the only one I’ve got at home

Yes, you can use anything that’s oven safe; the cook-time might vary.
