For those wondering, the reason why RTX 3080 performs lower than expected is due to the card used, the graphics card drops to 1700 MHz, and temperatures are very high in games. With the ROG RTX 3080 I have, it plays at a maximum of 67 degrees between 1935 and 2000 MHz, which gives you a 10 percent performance difference.
guess i'm sticking with my 6800xt for the foreseeable future. i'm not getting the same framerates at ultra but still way above 60 at 1440p. i may need to check limiters and other settings. running 5900x w/64mb ram 3000mhz all base no OC.

Well but they went down with the Price about 150$ and that is the "win" with the new cards. yes the generation is not a big upgrade if you have similar tier 3000 or 6000 series card, but that is normal kinda. i mean watch the 4060 lol. 8gb now and barrely the same fps as 3060 12 gb. the test here also is a bit strange, as i can get 70 ish 1% low and 80+ avg FPS on my 7800 xt with his settings and 2160p. I got a 7800x3d but that should not make a diff in 4k... also i run it in DX12 so i dont get how he can only have 42 fps at 4070s and 7800xt with RT off.. My 6800 xt is about 60 fps at 4k and the 7800xt is at 80. so it is definitly a better card by 10-25% depending on game but the price of 500 is just good.
