Finding lost key in Lake Superior for tourists

- I'm slowly working through a backlog of dives from this spring. I thought this would be a fun one to start with. It's a treasure dive from early May where I went in search of a car key for some young adults who were vacationing from out of state. They decided to swim in Lake Superior (BBBRRRRrrrr....) at Presque Isle here in Marquette.
This is a popular place to cliff dive and we typically find lost items including GoPros, wallets, jewelry and more. I even found a laptop here a few years ago.
Today's finds include another painted stone, some coins and their key. Not too much stuff as its early in the season so I didn't really expect to find much there.

Geez they get close to hitting the rocks down there
Don't worry. The blood washes away almost immediately. JK, no accidents take place there. Luckily they'd have to really try to hit a boulder. It's pretty clear so they can tell what spots to avoid.

They were just lucky that you were there, and were able to find the key.
Actually I got a phone call when I was on the other side of town. Poor kids had to sit there for a couple hours. I still beat Triple A 👍
Well, at least it's not the worst place to sit for a couple hours.

I couldn’t go swimming/free diving today, so I searched for underwater videos in Michigan lakes. I’m down in the lower peninsula, so I’m used to warmer water temperatures. Also the lakes I swim in aren’t quite as clear. However, your videos did help get me through a boring day stuck at home. Thanks a lot!

Actually I think I missed it but I'll be down there a few more times this summer. As the weather and the water warms, more and more deposits are made 😁

Good luck there, Chris. They show up on eBay once in a while. Otherwise, check the vintage scuba websites. Some have classified sections.
@@DonFassbender I made one outta of a 1950s agua lung tank Pak that had the cut out for the double hose regulator!

@@DonFassbender Got a piece of aluminum flat stock 1/8 x 1-1/4 wide and bent it for shoulder PC's and stainless 1/4 bolt and nut to bakpak left and right of stock cutout for regulator. Then took some of that nylon reinforced poly hose and slid over shoulder harness pieces for poly padding. Works good! And looks really cool.......

Right now I have about a dozen hardpacks and a few other builds I need to get to, but that's what winter is for. Keep on diving 👍
