"Baba Yetu" was composed by Christopher Tin for the opening menu in the computer game Civilization IV. This song is also performed regularly at the Video Games Live concerts.
Christopher Tin has recently released a new album "Calling All Dawns" which features over 200 musicians from around the world. The album also has a new recording of "Baba Yetu" which is spectacular. You can check out a sample of the new recording and purchase the new album here:

Not really, RUclips adjusts the bitrange for the audio according to the video-quality. But its better then most other 240p videos ^^
He probably has a direct line from his keyboard to the camera for audio.

The video that inspired me to learn Piano. Its crazy to think this was 13 years ago now. I was only 13 when I found this.
I never kept it on after a year because I just couldn't get the hand co-ordination right. But revisiting this video reignites the love for the piano. I don't know if I'll ever learn it, but listening to its sounds puts me in a very happy place indeed
To be honest, I've never played Civilization IV. However, this song alone is making me want to. It's AMAZING beyond words and you did an AMAZING job with the piano version. I'd thumbs up 500 times if I could.

I know your comments old, but I still have something to say. While most people know that playing on a actual piano both sounds and feels better. I have played on one of these keyboards and they are a lot of fun.

Due to a fact that i'm also musician, i understand what are u talking about. Im playing guitar and even though its electric guitar, i always enjoy playing on acoustic one. Talent and work of this man should be prized. And even if he likes more playing on keyboards, piano should be like trophy. If not real piano than golden statue or w.e. But i'm just fan, and its my belief :)

I would disagree. Keyboards that have weighted keys can perform the same as a real piano if not better. They also have many different sounds that can be used on them and never need tuning. Price is also generally less on keyboards.
Keyboards can do more but pianos sound more natural. After all, what came first, the keyboard or the piano?

He could be listening to the original via headphones, but your reason is cooler than that :D
When you play a song enough, the muscle memory is there. On a professional level, almost every soloist I've seen for something like a concerto does it without sheet music. I don't know if it's a matter of personal pride or just something that naturally happens, but playing from memory is simply the result of practice.

I can read sheets, but I'm really bad at it while learning, so I choose not to.
WOW. I figured the piano alone could never live up to the power of the orchestra and choir. Boy was I wrong, I was blown away by this performance, it gives me the same chills as hearing it live with full orchestra at VG Live (no small compliment!) Amazing performance dude!

I rarely make comments... but I have watched this every now and again after playing Civilization IV, and as a piano player myself, it's a hard song to play. You do it with a level of perfection that I love. I can hear a few minor mistakes, but your performance is remarkable.
