- The Geely Coolray Sport has become the best selling subcompact crossover in the past year due to its phenomenal value for money proposition. Many carmakers have thrown in their hats in the value crossover segment, with the likes of GAC GS3, Ford Territory, Kia Stonic, Hyundai Venue and the Chery Tiggo 5x all coming in to play in the 2021 Geely Coolray's segment. The Geely Coolray still stands the tallest in terms of driving performance and overall value. Chery, however, brought in their latest comapct crossover offering, the 2021 Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, and it is priced exactly at the Geely Coolray Sport price level. This car comparison is meant to check if the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro can bring the fight to the Geely Coolray Sport. At first glance, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro is promising; it is larger, offers a good amount of tech, and also a strong after sales support. Will the 2022 Geely Coolray Sport fend off this latest contender? Or will it finally lose out versus the 2022 Chery Tiggo 7 Pro?

Both are amazing. For a few months, we were inching closer to buy the Coolray, before the Tiggo 7 pro stole our hearts. I have 2 kids, so it made sense to get the bigger 7 pro. If I were younger, I'd have chosen the Coolray since it's a driver's car. No one loses here really. The buyers win, and we have two cars to choose from.
I own a coolray and have been smiling everytime i drive it. If you love driving, this car is for you.
I bet tiggo owners are also smiling over you everytime we talk about fuel consumption

In this comparo, it depends on what you value most, practicality or performance. I would go with practicality since we won't be able to use the engine power the coolray has most of the time, and tiggo 7 pro is just a better balance of features and great after sales support.
Yes, knowing the maintenance of its transmission is much cheaper than the ray's

Both cars are more or less similar. IMO, it all boils down to the best value your money can get you. The extended warranty coverage of the Tiggo 7 Pro and the 3-yr free PMS is the icing on the cake for me although the Coolray really has the best driving experience. After-sales service is also important as well as parts reliability. Chery's warranty coverage somehow helps alleviate the stigma our country has for Chinese cars.
The clear winner here is us, the buyers. We now have options that give great bang for our buck.

You dont need the autopark thats bullcrp. Car is already small. I Rather have that SPACE. Tiggo suspension feels more solid
This comparo point system is a good attempt to provide insight to buyers. I own a Coolray and still loving it everyday and did something similar to decide. Buyers can also have their own scoring system depending on the categories that matter to them. May also provide a weight for each category (aside from the individual score) to amplify those categories that matter most. Still i like this comparo.
I think the comparo is fair.. I chose Coolray because I don't value space that much yet..
I think the Kia Seltos vs Changan CS35 plus is a nice matchup next..

more space + rear a/c vents but cvt and worse engine response vs not as much space and no rear a/c vents but lovely engine power and tranny... chery has a winner here, but not by very much talaga. nice comparo, sir, keep it up.

Geely over Chery :) Other Chinese car brands which I think are worth considering (based on the reviews of Sir Reygan and other car reviewers): GAC and Changan. I like how GAC performed well in the Kalayaan and Bonifacio Cup (GA4 sedan), and how Changan did the 100,000km+ mileage endurance test on the CS35 :)

Ever since I watched the vid of the chery with the broken pedal, I cant stop wandering we Chery still exists.......
As space means nothing to me, and Drive means a 1,000% more. Still think the Geely wins hands down. That and the Tiggo 7 looks like a catfish with it's mouth open coming to sallow something.

Coolray owner here. You've come a long way in terms of presenting skills! Camera quality nalang kulang and you can go toe-to-toe with other reviewers in all aspects.
A bit of improvement nalang siguro would be avoiding saying the same words in one sentence. For example, you said "red leather" four times in less than 15 seconds. No offense, pero for improvement lang ng channel. Good job! :)

If you like burning fuel, go for Coolray Sport. If you like saving gas, go for Tiggo 7 Pro. If you don't like long drive go for Coolray. If you like long drive, go for Tiggo 7 Pro. If you like burning cash, go for Coolray. If you like seeing your cash in the bank, go for Tiggo 7 Pro. Both cars offer all the options. The warranty of Tiggo is a killer.

Visiting this again, and it bears saying that consumers should check the Tiggo 7 Pro again. They now have Apple Carplay and Android Auto as standard.
Tiggo7 Pro looks like European Car. I'm planning to get one . With it's Warranty the best of the Rest plus 3years free PMS it's the Best deal in the Car market.
I think cs75 plus is the better value for money.
Both are great cars tbh. Great price, performance and looks. But not enough to persuade me to change my top choice... The suzuki s-presso..
I can't let my family ride on that car knowing that it lacks security features.

The Coolray may drive better but that gearbox is super expensive. Also, the parts availability of both cars is questionable. Still, I'd buy Coolray over 7 Pro.

I'm getting Tiggo 7 pro because of larger cargo and warranty. We don't really need a DCT.

Coolray doesn’t have idle speed. It doesn’t move you forward unless you step on the accelerator. Which I believe is weird considering that it is an AT car. That’s why we bought the Tiggo 7 Pro instead.
Chery Tiggo 7 pro doesn't have what I have and what they have.

Masking yung galing sa ford nag work i mean service supervisor po dati ng ford tell me nag ooverheat naman issue ng bagong tranny.. yung old tranny grabe shuddering nun it can be prove. Andun din ako sa group ng Fb about sa ford transmission issue dami sira nag papa ayos dun ginagatasan nalang ng mga mekaniko..

Apples vs, Oranges! These two are on different categories so this so-called comparo is next to useless. Instead of the Cooklray, that Tiggo should have been compared to the Azcarra
It's a price-level comparo. The Azkarra is a 'premium' level contender. A lot of people shopping at the value crossover level would find this comparo highly useful. To say that it is 'next to useless' shows a lack of respect for the hard work put into making the content that helps a lot of people make a sound decision.
