      No announcements of any kind.
Funding sources and additional staffing information would be good to know.

I think in 10 years we may not need super large data centers to run super intelligent embodied AI. These huge data centers will be age old relics of the scaling years. Technology could get so good that a super intelligent brain could fit inside a robots head

I would argue that we still will hava data centers to control those armies of robots and collect data from them

As long as there's online learning, there's a loss function, which may bring about calamities. And there's a theory that those networks are trained to be optimizers in a sense and so they have obscure loss functions.

If he can explain what it means to “be nice,” and the majority of the world agrees with his definition, I’d be more open. Otherwise, sounds like he’s out of touch with that people haven’t been able to answer this to each other, let alone he himself for all humanity

This man is the deal for agi to progress. He's not at all even talking about cost , company structure ..gpu bla bla..no talk of money required at all , that's not his focus ., he is doing the pure research into AI.., core architecture , how to train and future .
2nd , I think indeed AI should have to think for humans n betterment.. but what if AI genuinely thinks something a revolutionary for global good n universal..but it goes against some nations interests. Or humanity's desires , greed.. my concern is that . Another issue is , Intelligence serves the ego or an identity. Our intelligence servers us, protects us.. will AI have its own ego/ identity? if yes. Then won't it use that AGI to serve its own ego as well , no bad if it also takes humanity's consideration's as well. ..but true intelligence can't work without ego..! our neural network build out of nothing.. out of soil.., how ? that invisible is real intelligence , not neural networks , they are temporary byproduct ..a shadow of its work..! n how come dna turn into a an intelligence.. i don't think its work of brain..its beyond brain.. brain lives in its own mental sensory space.. while true intelligence works in reality , its everywhere ..like a universe matrix. We are already inside it.

Allow me to delineate my point further.
Unless they are planning to radically redefine how a research company operates, their approach does seem to lack some crucial elements of traditional business acumen and startup experience.
      Here's a breakdown:
      1. Technical expertise vs. business skills: While Ilya Sutskever and his co-founders are undoubtedly brilliant in their field of AI research, running a successful company requires a much broader skill set.
      2. Lack of diverse experience: The founders' backgrounds are heavily skewed towards technical research, potentially leaving gaps in areas like operations, finance, marketing, and business development.
      3. Naive approach to funding: Without a clear business model or revenue strategy, relying solely on initial funding (if they have it) is risky and potentially unsustainable.
      4. Overemphasis on research: While their goal is noble, focusing exclusively on research without a clear path to commercialization or sustainability could be problematic.
      5. Potential echo chamber: With a team of like-minded technical experts, there's a risk of missing crucial business perspectives and market realities.
They may have a truly revolutionary approach to running a research company or have secured unprecedented levels of funding with no strings attached, their current approach seems naive from a business perspective. It's possible they may need to adjust their strategy or bring in experienced business leaders to complement their technical expertise as they move forward.

@@derek91362 yes that's how it is.. I totally agree with you . Company needs a product and a profitable business model . Many good startups fails because of this. Maybe they will think about it later , seeing Elon musk criticizing Sam for its change in Open AI's core beliefs of open source and non profit thing . I hope they will think about this in near future but overall I was just being appreciative of how Ilya is mainly interested in making ASI possible without getting distracted ..he is from research background so the way he'll run company would be different but as you said , without any profitable model he would not be funded so ..yes it would be better if hires experts in their fields to make his dream possible.
