To be fair , The other thing I considered is that his son is a teenager now. He likely had his own friends where he lives which is very important to teens his age. From the start of the show, I thought CHE WAS extremely selfish...still feel the same. I see she didn't put up any pictures of son son. I didn't like her on the show...still don't.
