It's called stockinette stitch. Knitted in the round makes purl bumps on the inside. If knitted flat it would be knit one row purl one row. 😊

I love the Caron Simply soft. Im making a king size afghan of Crystal's 3d Puffed Shell stitch for my son and am 20 skeins in so far. Its soo fluffy, thick & heavy. Like a weighted blanket.
I made a King Size 'Broom Stick Stitch' Afghan/Blanket for my youngest Son... Hat's off to you, as I know how my own hands felt ❤

Caron Simply Soft is one of my favorites. I find it easy to work with and have never had an issue with it splitting. I'm a lefty so sometimes I have to be careful which way the twist is on a few brands to avoid that problem. Since most of my items are donated the strength and softness of the yarn are important. Really appreciate your opinions! Have a great day 😀

I remember many years ago and when I first begin seriously crochet that Caron simply soft, was my favorite yarn because of how soft it is.
I was making everything out of it. Lol I have evolved and found other yarns that I love also especially hombres and especially those new ones you just introduced us to. I am so excited about those but Caron simply soft for always be my favorite soft, affordable yarn of choice.

Hi Crystal I really like Caron simple soft also. Not too much splitting for me but others have. I agree with the sharp change in color but perhaps adding a 3D effect (cable or strip) along the line will help to disguise the color change in the beanie? 🤗🥰 just a thought that came to mind while watching. Thanks so much for this review. I’m going to try it for my winter hat drive.

Such a pretty yarn! If you made a blanket out of it, you could possibly color control, cut and use all of each color from every skein. Thx for the review, it's got such a halo after washing, really pretty either way. 😊👍🧶

I really like the color combos. I bet it might make an interesting blanket because the stripes do appear to be the same size in each color. might make a cool zig zag look. Or, it might look hideous....lol!

Llama Mama Kala had a bird crocheted with the blue and it was really cute but I noticed hers broke too. I do like the Caron Simply Soft. That is quite a difference in the color. It is very pretty either way and I love the softness.

Simply Soft is my mom's favorite all time yarn. She uses it for everything when she needs a lot of color variety or a specific color because they have a million colors. I still remember when it was in the $2-$3 range too but even at Joann's 😅 these prices now kill me
You could make blocks of each color and hook them together for a blanket 😊

I love your reviews, Crystal. You telk ir like it is. I think it depends on the kind of hook you use. A slightly round-tipped crochet hook might be better than a pointer hook

I think everything is high these days, but I want my yarn, so always looking for sales. I seem to be using more light weight yarn lately for shawls, ponchos and baby wear. I love your hat and you look good in it.

I agree color control would make it look better, especially on a hat. I'm not of fan of hand washing anything so I typically look for wash and dry yarn, I know that narrows my choice of yarns but I just can't be bothered.
