If I had the money I would probably buy one too. Simply because of final cut pro. At the moment I work with an gigabyte p25 with a gtx880m, 16 gigs of ram and an i7, and Premiere pro lags like hell when I edit 4k footage. Not to mention the horrendous export times. When I edit the same footage on last gen mpb it has no problems at all. That's the reason why so many people still use macs today.
Don't get me wrong, the optimisations in Final Cut are amazing to work with, I love my current 15 MBP but the whole IO situation and prices hike makes it unjustifiable to me - have you tried working with the new Proxies feature in Final Cut Pro?

I have never actually watched one of these shows just due to the fact that there 1 hour+ long but i am pleasently surprised with how funny and entaining these are.
I'm watching this on a MBP 2016... its a beast. Love the keyboard, touchpad. The touch strip is pretty nice but sometimes i miss the physical keys like the volume. the fingerprint sensor is amazing and instant, just like on iphone. saves a lot of time. But overall its an amazing machine. There really are no real negatives I can find. I ran WOW on it and it maxed out at 100fps on high settings, so there is that. As for battery life id say 4-5 hours running at MAX brightness and watching videos. better than my old MBP so im happy. Before calling me an apple fanboy, i also have a windows desktop with watercooling and dual gtx 1080s in sli for gaming. I just prefer MacOS for laptops... and the build quality is amazing. Just sold my 2012 MPB retina 15 for 850$.. try selling a 2012 windows machine for 850$.. resale value is a factor that people never EVER mention in reviews and its a MAJOR factor for me and others i know that own MBP. My specs are 15inch, i7 2.7, 16GB, 1TB SSD
Vlad Shoots I got the 2012 MBP retina 15 but base spec because I was planning on updating to Ivy Bridge the year after....still haven't needed to update it and I got my battery and screen replaced for free by Apple earlier this year, an AU$550 part and another AU$500 part on a 4 year old laptop.

Alright. First, how often did you see DDR3 RAM in consumer grade computers unless it was a high end GPU? Not only does the LPDDR3 consume significantly less power than DDR4, by as much as 75% on standby and idle which obviously maximizes battery life. Which is why Dell's XPS 13 (Kaby Lake) uses it too... They also run at 2133MHz which make it as fast as 2133MHz DDR4 (if not even better due to lower CAS latencies). But you know, it's Apple so they deserve to be hated on right?
LPDDR4 is not available on Intel CPUs yet, and won't be until after Kaby Lake. This is Intel's fault. Only ARM phones have LPDDR4, including the iPhone 7. Apple did not want to use DDR4, which does use more power and take up more space.

much footage requires postprocesing, in many professional settings the raw footage isn't colour graded and will have off colours and lighting balance(compared to what the eye saw in that exact scene), plenty of youtube channels have uploaded what many would consider raw footage, it has a distinct slightly hazy look and very muted colours, to the point where some cameras barely shows any at all, this isnt a whitepoint problem mind you but a mapping issue.
Oodain As someone who worked as video editor and camera man, I tell you that first of all you want to have quality base material. Then you can play with postprocessing. You won't make a sculpture out of shit.

What the processor supports is not related to the claim that Apple made. LTT was right to investigate the claim on power usage. I had a 8800GTS. When it started aging, I stumbled upon another 8800GTS in Futureshop. Picked that up and ran SLI for the next 5 years. So SLI does help, even a little bit.
Heat was obviously applied to the outside of the PS4 ( by the owner ) , plastic doesn't concave AWAY from the heat source in a case like this. If you just look at the burn it's evident the heat source came from the outside... and that "cringed" plastic in the hole indicated flame.

I assume these sales numbers are due to Apple's immaculate strategy to confine their customers in their own OSX / iOS eco system. People who have used Macs before and where quite happy with them (and no doubt about it, there was a time when no Laptop could compete with a MacBook pro in the market segment it was targeting (which is not the same target segment as Lenovo workstations people)) - these people just cannot be bothered to research what Windows Laptop they should go for - i guess. so while more and more people get locked in the apple market, the rest of the manufacturers (Dell, Microsoft, Lenovo, etc.) have to share the rest of the market. What Tim Cook doesn't understand is that Steve Jobs didn't do change for change's sake (smaller, lighter, fewer ports, touch bar). Because what happens if you continuously worsen the user experience (less battery life, no wifi working etc.), the walls of the apple eco system will crumble more and more while other manufacturers like the ones mentioned above continue to release great products like the XPS, Surfacebook and so on.
Quick tip: the new Macbook Pro without the touch bar actually lasts 10 to 12 hours like advertised. It's still way too expensive, but I bought one and have been happy with my purchase so far. Wanted something with good battery life, good sound and a good screen, and that's the new Macbook Pro.

Being an owner of both a mac and a custom desktop I understand the appeal of a mac to people, they are very versatile, and the only reason why I bought one is because it was the cheaper (however hard this is to believe) alternative to take to university without adding a massive amount of weight to my bag. My university course is focused on editing and creating films, however, if I was not doing this particular university course and did not have a scholarship to purchase the mac with I would have stuck with my PC laptop and PC desktop. I did a lot of research into the market before finding that windows (my prefered OS of choice) light-weight laptops with the ability to edit well (without dying) and also rendering a video (whilst I'm away from my PC) were closer to £2000 at the time of my purchase, I could not get student discount, unlike with Apple

I've worked tech support at pretty much every level in a huge range of industries and sectors, and I can say from personal experience that a lot of people who use computers can be easily intimidated by unexpected GUI changes. They get confused and scared when Google move buttons around in the Gmail interface, that's enough to freak folks out to the point of non-functionality. The day Labels were unleashed into Gmail, I had to explain them to like 15-20 people calling the helpdesk in a single day wondering why they couldn't file their emails away the way they'd been doing since forever. Microsoft's design changes in Win8 and Win10 similarly scare the crap out of these people - they press the Windows button and look at the screen and something unexpected has happened and their brains just freak out and don't know what to do any more and freeze up in fear they've broken something. In contrast, Apple (for better or worse) haven't made any major surface changes to OS X since 2001. They've kept their GUI-changes learning curve exceptionally shallow over the last 15 years. That's the appeal, whether their target audience realizes that or not.
I'm not big on GUI changes either, and I continue to use Windows 7 as my main OS until I'm forced to upgrade because programs or hardware will no longer work. I still know how to use the other Windows OS's, but it's way different then what I'm used to and what cause me a lot of trouble when trying to get my job done.

Keep in mind that the Macbook is bound to be at the top of a sales list if you're judging by models. When you buy a Mac laptop, the only option is a Macbook. Only Apple makes them. When you buy a Windows laptop, there are dozens of brands and thousands of models to choose from. Most people don't set out to buy a specific Dell XPS or Lenovo Yoga, they just buy a random one from a handful of brands that they like, that has the desired specs at a good price on that day.
Not a bad sales strategy on apples end! You have two major choices one is apple the other is divided among 12+ companies. I wish I could put OSX on a Dell or Lenovo but sadly that is the only thing keeping apple on the top of the sales charts. I have been using only multi GPU setups since going triple monitor. It's the only way to max settings and get still hit 60+ fps. It's pretty close to 4K pixel count wise. The extra HP helps a lot. Currently have dual Titan X (Maxwell) cards. Runs great. The issues are nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be. Funny thing is that the AAA games tend to be more of an issue than smaller studios games. But, the lower quality of AAA titles these days sees me avoiding them anyway.

A friend of mine had an Athlon XP 3200+ that he attached a HSF to with no thermal paste, and it didn't fry the chip, but it downclocked it to an Athlon XP 1900+ permanently. When I had seen what he had done I was like Doh, so I put him some thermal paste on but the damage was done, and it stayed at 1900+ speeds. But this was over 10 years ago ...
ATT is doing it just because T-Mobile had such great success with Binge On. As a T-Mobile customer, it's really good. In the US, you're seeing all carriers adopting T-Mobile initiatives or at least a version of them because they are kicking everyone's ass in net subscribers.
We have two GT610s (I'm pretty sure thats the card) but they aren't for gaming at all. We have one in my Sisters computer because she fried the GT9800 that was in it because she covered the vent of the computer, she doesn't do gaming but the PC needed a video out. And we have one in our old server just for a video out. The benefit that we had with those cards are they are passively cooled and only cost us about 30 AUD each. For a machine that doesn't really need to do gaming but might need to handle 1080p video output they are fine, for us at least.

I'll bet you that's ABS and its glass transition is 105 degrees. Pretty damn close to 100. Chips have no problem getting to 105 if cooling isn't working properly. Could also be power circuitry.

About the bandwidth specially for LTE: Nope, on that you are wrong. While yes the band is limited, more towers WOULD sole the problem. The more towers you have the more cells you have. and that allows more people to use the exact same band to transmit data. Each tower has oh so many channels available in total - and thus a maximum bandwidth. If you use more towers than the covered area per tower shrinks and thus the number of people that share the resources shrink -> each person can get more of the available bandwidth. and making a backbone that has enough bandwidth is actually surprisingly simple - fiber optics have such insane bandwidths that you can hook literally thousands of users to a single fibre and give them all good speed (you can expect around 10 Tbps for a single fiber - with 100 000 users that would still be a 72/25 Mbit connection for every person).

What the processor supports is not related to the claim that Apple made. LTT was right to investigate the claim on power usage. Why didn't Apple actually TELL people that 16gig is the maximum their processor will support? Honesty is a thing for a growing number of people these days... including claims on battery life!!!
They're not building a spacecraft, where yeah a few extra watts consumed and a few extra ounces are a big issue. Its a laptop! make it a bit bigger and stuff a larger battery in there to make up the difference. Also, I agree just be honest about it Apple.

Heat was obviously applied to the outside of the PS4 ( by the owner ) , plastic doesn't concave AWAY from the heat source in a case like this. If you just look at the burn it's evident the heat source came from the outside... and that "cringed" plastic in the hole indicated flame.

I assume these sales numbers are due to Apple's immaculate strategy to confine their customers in their own OSX / iOS eco system. People who have used Macs before and where quite happy with them (and no doubt about it, there was a time when no Laptop could compete with a MacBook pro in the market segment it was targeting (which is not the same target segment as Lenovo workstations people)) - these people just cannot be bothered to research what Windows Laptop they should go for - i guess. so while more and more people get locked in the apple market, the rest of the manufacturers (Dell, Microsoft, Lenovo, etc.) have to share the rest of the market.
What Tim Cook doesn't understand is that Steve Jobs didn't do change for change's sake (smaller, lighter, fewer ports, touch bar). Because what happens if you continuously worsen the user experience (less battery life, no wifi working etc.), the walls of the apple eco system will crumble more and more while other manufacturers like the ones mentioned above continue to release great products like the XPS, Surfacebook and so on.
Quick tip: the new Macbook Pro without the touch bar actually lasts 10 to 12 hours like advertised. It's still way too expensive, but I bought one and have been happy with my purchase so far. Wanted something with good battery life, good sound and a good screen, and that's the new Macbook Pro.

If you want to know, Intel has had thermal throttling since the later Pentium 3 revisions (Coppermine/Tualatin). AMD was pretty late and only introduced thermal throttling with the Athlon 64. Thermal shutdown support is still completely up to BIOS/UEFI support and is usually disabled unless the user enables it.
Socket 462 Athlons/Durons/Semprons were known to reach 650-780F if you started them up without a heatsink and have been documented to explode in some situations.

I haven't watched the WAN show for a few months prior to now and I can say that the quality has definitely risen substantially. Which is definitely good considering what happened to Tech Syndicate.
I don't get the appeal about Surface Studio - maybe it is pretty, but it has no SSD and old generation mobile (!) GeForce... I mean if it should have Pascal GPU by now. And lack of SSD in 2016 feels like joke.

Being an owner of both a mac and a custom desktop I understand the appeal of a mac to people, they are very versatile, and the only reason why I bought one is because it was the cheaper (however hard this is to believe) alternative to take to university without adding a massive amount of weight to my bag. My university course is focused on editing and creating films, however, if I was not doing this particular university course and did not have a scholarship to purchase the mac with I would have stuck with my PC laptop and PC desktop. I did a lot of research into the market before finding that windows (my prefered OS of choice) light-weight laptops with the ability to edit well (without dying) and also rendering a video (whilst I'm away from my PC) were closer to £2000 at the time of my purchase, I could not get student discount, unlike with Apple
Don't get mad at them because they are computer morons. I've worked tech support at pretty much every level in a huge range of industries and sectors, and I can say from personal experience that a lot of people who use computers can be easily intimidated by unexpected GUI changes. They get confused and scared when Google move buttons around in the Gmail interface, that's enough to freak folks out to the point of non-functionality. The day Labels were unleashed into Gmail, I had to explain them to like 15-20 people calling the helpdesk in a single day wondering why they couldn't file their emails away the way they'd been doing since forever. Microsoft's design changes in Win8 and Win10 similarly scare the crap out of these people - they press the Windows button and look at the screen and something unexpected has happened and their brains just freak out and don't know what to do any more and freeze up in fear they've broken something. In contrast, Apple (for better or worse) haven't made any major surface changes to OS X since 2001. They've kept their GUI-changes learning curve exceptionally shallow over the last 15 years. That's the appeal, whether their target audience realizes that or not.

I'm not big on GUI changes either, and I continue to use Windows 7 as my main OS until I'm forced to upgrade because programs or hardware will no longer work. I still know how to use the other Windows OS's, but it's way different then what I'm used to and what cause me a lot of trouble when trying to get my job done.

I got a late 2013 macbook pro. I used it very little till last month, when I upgraded it to Windows 10 pro. Imagine, now it works even with my 1920 x 1200 monitor.

Keep in mind that the Macbook is bound to be at the top of a sales list if you're judging by models.
When you buy a Mac laptop, the only option is a Macbook. Only Apple makes them.
When you buy a Windows laptop, there are dozens of brands and thousands of models to choose from. Most people don't set out to buy a specific Dell XPS or Lenovo Yoga, they just buy a random one from a handful of brands that they like, that has the desired specs at a good price on that day.
Not a bad sales strategy on apples end! You have two major choices one is apple the other is divided among 12+ companies. I wish I could put OSX on a Dell or Lenovo but sadly that is the only thing keeping apple on the top of the sales charts. Ever since the power pc days ended apple has not really stepped their game up on hardware and let the OS loyalty keep the sale up.

I have been using only multi GPU setups since going triple monitor. It's the only way to max settings and get still hit 60+ fps. It's pretty close to 4K pixel count wise. The extra HP helps a lot. Currently have dual Titan X (Maxwell) cards. Runs great. The issues are nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be. Funny thing is that the AAA games tend to be more of an issue than smaller studios games. But, the lower quality of AAA titles these days sees me avoiding them anyway.

A friend of mine had an Athlon XP 3200+ that he attached a HSF to with no thermal paste, and it didn't fry the chip, but it downclocked it to an Athlon XP 1900+ permanently. When I had seen what he had done I was like Doh, so I put him some thermal paste on but the damage was done, and it stayed at 1900+ speeds. But this was over 10 years ago ...

ATT is doing it just because T-Mobile had such great success with Binge On. As a T-Mobile customer, it's really good. In the US, you're seeing all carriers adopting T-Mobile initiatives or at least a version of them because they are kicking everyone's ass in net subscribers.
We have two GT610s (I'm pretty sure thats the card) but they aren't for gaming at all.
We have one in my Sisters computer because she fried the GT9800 that was in it because she covered the vent of the computer, she doesn't do gaming but the PC needed a video out.
And we have one in our old server just for a video out.
The benefit that we had with those cards are they are passively cooled and only cost us about 30 AUD each.
For a machine that doesn't really need to do gaming but might need to handle 1080p video output they are fine, for us at least.

I'll bet you that's ABS and its glass transition is 105 degrees. Pretty damn close to 100. Chips have no problem getting to 105 if cooling isn't working properly. Could also be power circuitry.

Nope, on that you are wrong.
While yes the band is limited, more towers WOULD sole the problem. The more towers you have the more cells you have. and that allows more people to use the exact same band to transmit data.
Each tower has oh so many channels available in total - and thus a maximum bandwidth.
If you use more towers than the covered area per tower shrinks and thus the number of people that share the resources shrink -> each person can get more of the available bandwidth.
and making a backbone that has enough bandwidth is actually surprisingly simple - fiber optics have such insane bandwidths that you can hook literally thousands of users to a single fibre and give them all good speed (you can expect around 10 Tbps for a single fiber - with 100 000 users that would still be a 72/25 Mbit connection for every person).
