      As the presenter mentions, these dietary changes have helped her in combination with treatment. In her case, she still takes prednisone, but has been able to reduce the amount of prednisone she needs to control her vasculitis by adding these dietary changes. Takayasu Arteritis (TAK) is, unfortunately, one of the more difficult forms of vasculitis to treat and it cannot be treated or controlled by diet alone. You can find more information on TAK here www.vasculitisfoundation.org/education/vasculitis-types/takayasu-arteritis/

      You def have to be your own advocate. I had to see 4 different Dr’s and 5 visits before I found a Dr. that really listened and assessed and I had alot of symptoms besides the rash. He was a blessing! He automatically thought of Vasculitis before I even mentioned it to him and it was exactly what I had written down on a piece of paper w/a question mark. He ordered lots of blood work. Ask tor ANA and ANCA blood tests at your next appointment. Before him they were just throwing darts and way off the bullseye. Good Luck:) 🍀

    People can have an allergic reaction to anything that’s why an elimination diet is a good idea there are some foods which seem to cause more of a reaction than others most people are aware of dairy ,nightshade vegetables and gluten but if you have a leaky gut it could be anything

    My type of Vasculitis is apparently much different and less life-threatening than the type most folks here are afflicted with. In fact, I can say with absolute certainty that my recent flareup of Vasculitis would never have occurred had I not recently bought myself a treadmill. After all, I have what is most likely "Exercise Induced Vasculitis" in my lower legs. I've had it for years and it almost never bothers me unless I do something that puts a serious strain on my legs, or if I consume very acidic foods, like vinegar. Walking on pavement never bothered me. Anyway, I will stick to just swimming a kilometer a day and avoid my treadmill. Oh before I forget, soaking lower legs in ice water is great. Pat them dry, do nor rub them with a towel, and then apply Aloe vera gel.

      Thank you so much for sharing what you have found helpful. As you noted, there are different types of vasculitis and while some are mild others are life-threatening. We are glad you have found that your form is more mild and can be mostly controlled by adjusting your exercise routine and diet.

    My 15yrs daughter infected with vasulitics since 1 month but her blood report & biopsy is normal but her urine report shows protein trace

    • @vasculitisfoundation
      @vasculitisfoundation  9 месяцев назад

      Biopsy combined with blood work and imaging tests are all used to diagnose vasculitis. If biopsy, bloodwork, and imaging are not showing signs of vasculitis inflammation, something else may be contributing to the protein traces in her urinalysis.

    What about cheese?

    • @vasculitisfoundation
      @vasculitisfoundation  Месяц назад

      Each person is unique. While some foods such as those that are high in sugar should be avoided by everyone, other foods are fine for some people but cause problems for others. Some people find dairy products including cheese to cause issues while others have no problem with dairy products. Working with a registered dietician or nutritionist may be helpful. You could also try keeping a food diary where you eliminate a food such as cheese for a few days and note how you feel and then add it back in to see if you notice a difference.
