The Music is Bond... James Bond In concert - presented by Tim Beveridge with his Orchestra Music by Monty Norman Based on original (and transformative) orchestration of John Barry

To be fair we only filmed this with two cameras as an archive record of a live concert so it wasn't being directed. A couple of cameras and a sound mix, no director (no budget!) Cheers
AMAZING. To think this song was written over 50 years ago and it STILL sounds like a legitimate spy theme even by modern standards. A truly timeless masterpiece!!
@@gjnelsondotcom Then you must not have read many comments. And what shame is there in saying that? You have no right to tell him to hang his head in shame.
Enrique Del Risco Justification is so 2015. This is Trump Country now! Boys are girls, climate change is a myth, obesity is healthy! Hey - have a good day too my friend. :)
Connery was certainly the best Bond. Roger Moore was simply too gentlemanly to be a cold-blooded killer for the government. The scene in Goldfinger where he kisses a beautiful in a bathrobe while using her body to protect himself from a killer said it all.
Awgichew Yes, but Star Wars is more iconic. I bet SLIGHTLY more people would recognize Star Wars compared to James Bond. It doesn't matter how old or new the song is. Iconic is iconic. I love both themes by the way.
Cool…i strongly disagree though. James Bond is international known. Those movies feature international locales and international stars, whereas Star Wars as big as it is, is more Americanized and fan based. Hell, some people can't tell the different between Star Wars and Star Trek!
I've been a James Bond Fan ever since I could remember. I've seen every movie. I don't know why, but listening to all these brilliant musicians brought me to tears....
May I simply note, this tune was composed by Monty Norman, for the soundtrack of the film "Dr. No." Mr. Norman turned in a Caribbean/Calypso arrangement, which displeased the producers. John Barry was asked to work up a new arrangement, which resulted in the performance with which we are now all familiar.
No matter who you are or where you live or how many years you've been around, as soon as you hear those first five notes, you know what's coming. The definition of a classic.
The best scene ever; I greatly dislike James Bond personality and when Goldfinger speaks his eyes reflect how much he despises Bond and the low esteem he has for him.
Daniel Craig is real good just not great. But I don't think Sean Connery could play Craig's, Moore's or even Brosnan movies. It's like Sammy Hagar singing for Van Halen. Most Roth tunes just wouldn't bsound right with Sammy and vise versa.
For me it is impossible to listen to this song without associating it with Sir Sean Connery, for me, the best James Bond of all time, in his favor he is the first actor to interpret it and he did it so well that it gives the impression that he is the intrepid , audacious and attractive spy in the service of his majesty. I also add to the character his very particular sense of humor, now, if I had to choose his successor this is Pierce Brosnan, however, Connery for me is the best, number 1. Although he has already left this world, I have the pleasure to have your saga as the legendary agent. Sean Connery left but, he left his stamp. Greeting from Chile.🌹🙋🇨🇱
God bless Vic Flick. Not only this iconic guitar sequence, but also later the lesser known (to young people) small guitar intro before The Beatles' song "HELP!". George Martin and the lads were pretty clever.

Fantastic to see what musical instruments were involved in producing iconic movie themes. Most, I knew would be there, a couple I wasn't expecting but again, seeing how they are all play together, is amazing.
Back in the early 90's I had a car with automatic seatbelts. Every time you started the car, the seat belts would wrap around you. I kept expecting to hear this theme and a voice saying "Goodbye, Mr. Bond".
I love this piece. Great music and exceptional quality recording. Tim Beveridge and the Neophonic Orchestra have done well. A video to be bookmarked - thanks.
One of the most fit-for-purpose theme tunes ever written. Right up there with Mission Impossible, Dynasty (from season 2), A Summer Place, The Pink Panther and Taxi Driver.
You can hear the melding of the eras of the time this was first produced. The brass horn music of swanky, smoky nightclubs of the mid fifties and early sixties along with the surf guitar rock of early to mid sixties. However, it's forever timeless. It still makes me think to myself, I need a faster car and a well tailored suit.
This version is excellent. What makes it excellent is that the guitar solo is outstanding. That is what makes the song what it is - the suspenseful guitar riff. I've listened to other recordings on youtube, but this one is the best. The use of both the bass and electric guitars add to that intensity of it, which is what it should be, creating that thrilling, intense and cathartic effect,.

When I listen to this music, its always Sean Connery on my mind. Great actor and great personality. The one and only classic 007 Bond. James Bond!
And I don't care if Octopussy made more money. Never Say Never Again was the superior film!
Don't forget the late great Sir Roger Moore!!
Christopher Cotton. Roger Moore was good but he didn’t have the looks and personality of serious James Bond.
Connery is 007 . Rodger Moore was good comedy .
Beautiful Theme. The orchestra's performance is wonderful. RUclips.com/c/TheresaDelPorto
