This is probably my favourite language crossover channel. The conversations have some real depth to them! Not only does this demonstrate a real intricate detailed understanding of the language, instead of just ordering food and asking for directions, but we actually get into some interesting topics, learn more about people, and even history!
Little bit of an experiment tbh. I spend alot of time talking about history with Chinese people, its one of the things i most enjoy. Wasn't sure whether it was youtube worthy content though haha, so we shall wait and see. Qinshihuangs suspected burying of Confucian Scholars is a really interesting bit of history.
That was fun. So many different interactions. I quite liked the history conversation at the end. I actually learned something from it. That young man was an excellent conversationalist and he knew his stuff too!.
everyday is a learning day on your channel, Jack. Loved hearing about the chinese history...you must tout your channel more...you deserve a bigger following
0:00 Such a CUTE reaction! 2:30 He was ANGRY until I spoke his language… 5:24 Chinese girl raps for me!! 9:31 He went CRAZY after I spoke Mandarin… 11:57 Are you married? 17:53 How often do you think about the fall go the Roman Empire?
Chiming in here to say, I love the way you show in-depth conversations you have with real people about history and their personalities, it really does demonstrate your understanding and confidence in the language when you can initiate and navigate conversations like these. This is great and unique omeTV content, and listening to you and native speakers also assists with my learning!
Actually it's easier to learn languages while older, because you got a better understanding of the world in general, and have a much broader understanding of a variety of concepts. The only real problem with learning languages when one is older, is finding the time to do so. I speak multiple languages, but I wouldn't say that I am particularly good at learning languages, because I'm an awfully lazy person. But if one can put aside 10 to 15 minutes every day to study, one can become decent at another language within a year.

I really enjoy your channel, Jack. Always great conversations, not just idle chit chat. That sets you apart from the rest and it's being noticed.
