My mom was quite an intrepid traveller. She sold everything bought a caravan and traversed South Africa all on her own! Until she couldn't anymore. Sadly she passed away exactly a year ago today. Not many widows in their late 50's / 60's would have the gutsiness to do what she did.
Fantastic, the hoardes from rsa, will soon be there..wish to do same as you .what would be the difference of towing a caravan versus a simple campervan.wish to see u on the water again..
Unfortunately the RSA hordes are already here. RE: Caravan vs Camper When I get to a place, I unhook the caravan, set everything up (Tent, cooking stuff, dstv dish, electricity, water and 10 other things) and the caravan stays in that position for the next month. I am free to go to the shops or out driving at anytime in the car. If I have a campervan and want to go to the shop I have to pack everything and secure it to drive to the shop. When I get back someone else has moved into my spot. Or you have to lug other transport with you. Campervans are much heavier on gas than a car. A campervan is good for short stops, but for long term stays a caravan or a tiny house that you can tow and leave in one spot is definitely the better choice.
