Hurray for the talented and passionate Benedek Csalog and his Quantz Project, he is a great exponent of baroque music and has an unparallel commitment to historically informed performance.
Benedek Csalog Hungarian flautist ... From 1987 he studied the baroque flute with Barthold Kuijken at The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where he graduated in 1991. ... From 1992 to 2008 he was a teacher of the Baroque flute and chamber music at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. From 2005 to 2008 he also taught at the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music in Poland, and was a guest teacher for Baroque Performance Practice at the Faculty of Music of the Széchenyi István University of Győr (Hungary) from 2016-2019 ...
Some composers are ill-treated in music history books. Quantz is one of them. But his music is simply a mirable. The more I know JS Bach's comtemporaries the more I recognized that he was one among many and not the best... We have benn lied about the music history.

In the description, you've got the years of his life wrong by a century 😂
@@antoinepetrov Yes, I think it should be 1697-1773.
300 concertos and 200 sonatas?! I mean… That's a massive amount of work. Thank you so much, those composers must not be forgotten.

An album of lovely, cheerful music. Thank you for sharing this with us.
An excellent performance and wonderful tempi, you could hear the music flow effortlessly, it wasn’t a trace to see who was fastest among flutists.
This is very fine music, beautifully performed. The project to record all the sonatas is very exciting!
