Same with Norton. Never seen him so pleased with how a movie turned out. The work they put in was way more than I've seen for any role. Everyone was great
Walked into Cafe' WHA in Greenwich Village, Feb. 1962. Who is sitting in front of me....Bobby D !! He looked mysterious, and untouchable.. like the music God that he is. I spent the last 55 years listening to his inimitable music -- every day. Mazel Tov... and Bless you Bob !!
No f**king way, dude! That's awesome! Bob Dylan is one of those personalities that just inspire. He's like Steve Jobs / Wozniak, George Washington, and Mick Mars rolled into one. I wish I could catch that spark..
Dylan has had a huge influence on my life.. my history teacher Mr. Phaneuf taught our class who he was. I saw his show in 2018 and it was a life changing experience! Thats what inspired me to make music and write songs. I loved the movie, Bob is a legend!
It's a biopic with music, but it's not a "musical" biopic. Nobody is breaking into song in the streets and out balconies. It's more of a Folk-Rock Opera, where the music is used very much as narrative storytelling, relating influences and reactions in Dylan's early time in Greenwich Village. And it's a great film.
I don't think it's merely a biopic. It's also an exploration of the intersection of a musical revolutionary and a political/social revolution over a four-year period.
I'm not going to argue with your suggested nuances but there was an element for me where I knew the songs and knew - some - of the words and sang along with it a little bit. A lot of movies have music but "A complete Unknown" let the songs playout even complete to some degree so no, it's not a musical but there is an element to this movie where you just simply want to hear the tunes and they obliged.
I thought it was pretty good surprised at how much live performance it had I think it gives you a perspective of Dylan. I never used to really understand folk music and how it contrasts with pop music and a band like The Beatles
Dylan likes telling stories in song, prose, and conversation that are metaphorically true, not necessarily factually accurate. Same is true here when translating his story in film. His people optioned the book that it was based on and reached out to Mangold to make it, with Dylans final signed script annotation. The story is compacted and somewhat mythologized to move the story forward and to provide a certain distanced perspective on events that convey the feel of the times. It's a Hollywood version that will surely attract new fans to the genius of this great artist.
Hey -Today Show. Lose the plastic cups on air. Let's not normalize polluting our planet on a daily basis. Get a really cool water pitcher and glasses and start a trend. Happy New Year!
Bob Dylan has openly said “the only people you have to think twice about lying to, is maybe yourself or God”. That’s one of the worst bits of life advice I’ve ever heard. He says it like it makes him cool. Now I know one of the reasons why he seems so miserable.
Bob is probably wondering who that guy up there really is and if he should follow , these days he probably doesn't understand what he's singing himself and wonders does everyone else ?
Nice for young folks. How about the actual times that were changing then, and those that are now? Sidestepping the militarism and fascism then and increasingly now in lieu of commodified, packaged nostalgia, not cool, even if old Bob and young Timmee are.
@@chikkipop What a silly thing to say. I expect more from someone who considers himself a source of good advice (yet offers only uniformed opinions and inane expectations).

Timmy deserves the OSCAR, for his monumental effort !

What a great movie. I watched it for the second time today!
Good for you. I’m thinking about hitting it a second time.
I really wanna see it
I also saw it twice! Loved it even more the second time around!

Well, he DID have input w/the 1st script...
Um yes, they said that in the video….
I enjoyed the movie, it's interesting to learn what artists go through from beginning to fame.
And Timothee has never even met him still.
Should've got the part
Hahaha
Too old for the role.
@@jackmandu Nothing a little FX can't fix.
The word is he didn’t want to be labeled as just an actor by the director.
Timmy realises playing the part of a music icon enhances his chances of an Oscar
what is this sweet techno track at 0:51??
Image what that script with Bob Dylan’s notes and autograph is worth?
Erm.... Imagine. And possibly quite a lot.
I'm first to bid !🚴♂
Go see the movie 🍿 it’s for all ages ! 2 thumbs up 👍👍

I don't get it ! Despite inflation, folks spend big dollars on Plastic water bottles. We have the best tap water on earth .
What is with the super sized iced coffee? Do they really have to pretend like she is drinking that thing?
Are these people that happy?
That doesn't mean it's true. Only simpletons think that.
That doesn't mean it isn't true. Only idiots think that.
People make up their pasts and forget the rest.
Probably didn't get the part because they couldn't understand him.
If you really cared about the guy you'd leave him be, he's been analyzed enough 😅 Dylan that is

Really put the drink down. Tv getting very casual .
Vomit.....morning news shows just naissicous

He remembers an insane amount of lyrics and music about a 100 nights a year. I think he has a grasp on what he’s doing.
Why is she drinking a coffee in a plastic cup on tv?!!!

god himself greenlit the script.
Still not gonna watch it. Bob cannot be duplicated. End of story.
And still managed to make a rubbish film.
