Agreed, really cool to see them go really in-depth on something like this. I still have no idea how I'd create something like this from scratch though, there's so many ways to do things

Brilliantly done! This could be the basis of a group of tutorials since it explores many features that make Vegas a standout. All editing software, no matter the price, can do cuts, titles, etc.. But this shows the power of Vegas that is rarely seen or even covered.
So, an in depth tutorial on each feature used would be great!

Many thanks for your kind comment! I agree, there's a lot here that could be unpacked further, things that I think makes VEGAS into a pretty unique and powerful editing environment.

@@John-Ivar it's nice to put a "video" to the user name in the forums! I kinda figured it was you since a lot of us remember your "user made" video we all raved about.

The fact that you recognize me from the forums warms my heart! Thank you. I'm a long-time VEGAS user and fan, so it's very very cool to be able to contribute to the software like this (even if it's a bit outside of my comfort zone)

@@John-Ivar you are a natural for this. Also, you have shown what is possible if you know the software and have the creative mind to bring it to "life". Great work! Please continue!

Wow, this is bananas! Impressive! Not sure I've ever seen anything as complex as this being explained in VEGAS. I've used a lot of parent/child tracks before, but not to this extent. Would absolutely love to see whatever else you've worked on.

This might be the most compact tutorial in Vegas wich i've ever seen!
Also it shows what a beast of software Vegas really is and what can be done in it
Im using this software for ages now and still i didnt knew soo many things haha
Like parenting the clips and all the other buttons - in older vegas versions alle the "Visible Buttons" were all there at the beginning but in vegas 21 they didnt show up, so i thougt they were removed so i was a bit confused haha
Very useful tutorial like i said, with all the Parenting layers, also for the camera motion
Even with masking out the coursor you showed some masking features i didnt know - like the tangent tool and adjust the mask
I just have one question about the Smart Mask Plug In (hope this time someone could answer it)
You showed it how you've done it with a picture, so a not moving image - that works great for me, but when i do it with a video it takes sooo long to create the mask for just a few seconds clip. And when its done...the videoplayback is very laggy, also rendering takes long as hell.
Is that normal or do i have to able/disable some funtions?
[And no my computer/specs isnt 't the problem]
Anyways Thank You very much for your time showing us the project and sharing your knowledge with us!
This sure might be very helpful for a lot of vegas editors!

Thanks for the video. It makes you realize how much you can really do with Vegas. What we would have liked to know is the configuration on which this project was carried out. The total rendering time, and that of the AI masks.
Because with so many tracks and effects, I imagine you had a lot of crashes and extremely long rendering times. That's the problem about Vegas, though, it's a tool I've been using for years. Thanks.

Thank you, and great question! As far as I remember, I think the original promotional video took somewhere between two and three weeks from start to finish. It's a lot of trial-and-error, feeling out what seems right or wrong, listening to feedback and ideas from my colleagues here in Norway and at MAGIX, and just going at it. Leaves a lot of scrapped ideas and scenes, but I think we ended up with something good for the update launch. :) Thanks for commenting!

Vegas Pro is excellent software. Can you please tell me:
    1. Do Magix own this side of the Vegas software also (having dumped the consumer version, and replaced it with their own video editor).
    2. Your view on why Vegas Pro is not more mainstream (Premier Pro and the others take more effort to achieve what VegasPro can do simply - I don't get why VegasPro is not more popular).
    3. Given the above, I hope VegasPro has a secure future?

Thank you for watching and commenting. I'll keep your feedback in mind.
It's difficult to temper my excitement when talking about something that I find so fun. 😁 I originally tried to cover the whole project in one video, but it got way too unwieldy and lengthy, and I was afraid that I'd be boring people with my blabbering. So I settled on this as a happy medium, in the hopes that people might comment if there's anything in particular they'd like for me to cover in more detail (or something else entirely).
      Thanks again for your comment!
